Hello Piotr, very nice content. Loved the BUS theory. I have a question for you, hope you can help me: I own an iMac and a Macbook pro. I normally shift from one to the other, since I travel quite often. The problem is that sometimes I start a project in one computer and want to continue editing it on the other. Is there a way I can Do so? As a KZbinr, I´m obiuosly paying a regular license with adobe, and right now the only option I have is to edit the project. Save it on a Hard drive and carry that hard drive to the other computer, download the project and continue editing. This obviously takes a lot of time and sometimes duplicates projects. Is there a faster, easier solution for editing the same project in two different computers? Thank you for your help and keep up the good work!

Hey Federico! There are a few ways you could approach this topic. If you're able to have a copy of the footage on both systems then Team Projects would be the answer. I'll mention this feature in my next video (coming in a few days). But again, it depends on a few things and the more footage you have, the fewer options to choose from :) Let me know if you'd like to discuss it in more detail!
@DrFedericoBaenaQ4 жыл бұрын
@@cttp You are very Kind to answer. Truth is that I normally edit with few footages. Most of my videos are recorded in 4k but I don't use many different footages. So yes, I can consider that option, makes sense. I already subscribed to your channel and will be waiting for the video about Team Projects. It would be fantastic if you could mention my example (Two computers, one project), maybe I'm not the only one with this issue. Thanks again and we'll keep in touch!

If they suggest you don’t store footage in the productions folder... where should it be stored? I’m looking at using productions for episodic KZbin videos and maybe a graphics project for pieces and parts
@cttp4 жыл бұрын
Treat a Production as a folder where normally you would store a single project file. You should keep all the assets in separate folders on the system. It's best to play with Productions a bit and then rewatching my video series. You just need to see it in action to fully understand how this new way of clip referencing works :) Good luck!

I've got a global project for SFX that I will be using across many productions but if a production creates a copy of the project then we'll end up with many different versions of this project across different productions.. Any idea how to deal with this?
@cttp4 жыл бұрын
That is a good point! Unfortunately, I don't think there's a solution to that problem. You just need to add this project to production therefore Premiere will create a copy. Nothing we can do about it I guess... I'll let you know if I find another way :)

Sorry, I'm still a little confused as to what Productions is and how it's different from the standard Premiere Project setup. What benefits does this have over traditional Premiere? How does this compare to Avid or Resolve?
@cttp4 жыл бұрын
If you know Avid then it should feel familiar to you. People say that basically this feature changes Premiere into Avid because it works like Avid bins. Benefits? Being able to keep projects small ever for large edits but keeping assets accesibility easy. Which comes with speed and probably stability

My question here is how does it handle archiving? If I want to archive an edit and all the footage used in it to a single location using the Project Manager will it properly parse through all the different projects etc?
@cttp4 жыл бұрын
Yes, looks like Project Manager works without a problem. If you have any issues you can always use 'Generate Master Clips' command. I talk about it in the second video about Productions.

@1:57 Love the "Bus Theory". I religiously use Digital Rebellion's Post Haste app to organize and kick off all new projects. It allows for multiple project folder setups (create a template for Doc projects, Broadcast project, Audio-only projects, etc.) and also have some very nice features for automatically naming files and folders based (automatically add client name, project number, project title, etc. to files/folders). It's a great tool whether you're typically too lazy to organize a project from the beginning or super-OCD about making sure everything is in the right place. App: www.digitalrebellion.com/posthaste/ User manual for full details & features: digitalrebellion-assets.s3.amazonaws.com/docs/Post%20Haste%20User%20Manual.pdf

@@cttp Hey thank you, i have other issues, we're using different apple and windows computers and we're using a Synology server, and most of them are closing premiere and don't want to work. Can you tell me a way to work that out or what to check out? it'll be much appreciated.
@cttp4 жыл бұрын
Does Synology support Productions? I guess it does... How do you have cache files set up? Which Premiere pro version do you have? 14.5? On every machine?
@joelcamilo82524 жыл бұрын
@@cttp we have the cache files in the same folder as the project file and production file, and yes we have the 14.5 version on every machine. However we have the duplicate id error on various projects, do you think that's what's causing all of our problems?.
@cttp4 жыл бұрын
Probably. How did you place or duplicated projects into a Production? If you did it manually then it can b the source of the issue. Also, caches files that you set in preferences should be local for each machine. Only preview files etc that you choose location for in Project Settings should be on shared storage.

How can they work on such gimmicks when the software still freezes 10 times a day..
@christopherolson70184 жыл бұрын
Gimmick? This feature is freaking phenomenal. Your crashes are likely due to underpowered system or bad workflow. 9/10 times that is someones issue.
@cttp4 жыл бұрын
Fabien, I do agree with Christopher here. While I understand the frustration when you just want something to work as-is, Premiere Pro requires good workflow. For example, I edited this video on 14.1 version (which was still in beta mode at the time) and I haven't experienced any crashes or issues. Which of course doesn't mean that it may not happen at some point. But having good workflow and a machine that is dedicated to editing, Premiere Pro proves to be a stable software for me and many others.
@ffaabb794 жыл бұрын
@@christopherolson7018 No, it's the software that can't handle things and freezes. Good workflow, good machine. And I see where my subscription money goes : more and more and more features, more glitches, less stability. Look at the subtitle feature : introduced like 4 years ago, and still not working.
@cttp4 жыл бұрын
I do agree about captioning features... But I actually think they should redesign it from scratch. So I hope for new captioning experience soon :D
