@@Jetblink619 isn’t 7.4 very low ?
@Jetblink6194 жыл бұрын
@@andrewgetty9478 Some will say yes for African cichlids, my answer is no. Here are my reasons: A stable PH/KH/GH etc is the key. I don’t chase water parameters. I leave them as is and don’t make adjustments. A long time ago I use to do that, and 30 years of keeping African cichlids, I learned that is not the way to go. A stable environment is a thriving environment. I use this philosophy in 27 of my freshwater tanks, all with rewarding results. Each hobbyist has to do what works best for them, and this is how I do it. 👍

Some of those males are absolutely perfect but the one i want and have been looking for myself as a mature adult is the fossocromis rostratus yours is again perfect. Tank is great but the background not sure i like it I've been looking at them and i like them but if i get one i want one that's on the thinner side i know it's weird to say but the tank doesn't look like a 300 gallon tank and it must be the background. But i still love you're tank as far as stocking for aggression i agree with that but it does look a little crowded so much so I've decided not to go as much as i thought i was going to. Sometimes it helps to see what it looks like first so thanks for that. Take care and god bless.

@Jetblink6193 жыл бұрын
Thanks, plenty of hiding spaces in the tank however, the fish can swim through the 3D background
@ritabeitz95983 жыл бұрын
From the information I have read, mbunas like less light and tend to hide in the rocks. Since you only have a few, I am sure the light set up you have doesn’t matter. But I have found that since I have an all mbuna tank, the fish are happiest with less lighting. I personally also think that when you “overstock” a tank, the ratio is as follows. For every 1 inch of fish, per gallon times 2. Meaning that for every one inch fish, you can have twice that in fish per each gallon. So for fish that are average 6 inches in your tank, that translates to 6 times 60 which is 360 gallons, times two would be maybe 110 fish, and you are certainly under that range. So, with that estimate, you are within the range of a healthy over stocked aquarium. If 6 inches is your average. That is my two cents.
