Nice video! I jumped all over your Brownells Retro BRN-601 Air Force AR-15 (even though I was Army and had the M16A1 in Vietnam). I am very pleased with my new jungle green meanie. But I'll have to wait a while on your AR-10s, hoping for an updated FSB. Also, I already have a new ArmaLite AR-10A (which does work with the original 1950s ArmaLite waffle mags, Knights Armament/Gene Stoner SR-25 mags, Brownells/DPMS .308 mags and even modern PMAGs!) so must admit I gag a bit when I see these great looking rifles based on DPMS. I suppose today's ArmaLite wouldn't partner with Brownells on these AR-10 retros so can understand the need to move to DPMS and the need to keep the cost down. Thanks Brownells for introducing your six retro ARs and I hope they are very popular. The BRN-601 sure is as it's always out of stock! I'm sure the AR-10s will be popular too. (Oh, out of curiosity did you have to license "AR-10" from the new ArmaLite? I believe they own the rights to that.)

How well do they group? I know the original m16 with its pencil barrel had a walking zero. I really like the B pattern but I wanted to make sure the thinner barrel would be sturdy.

Kind of wish you had heat shields in the hand guards, but I like the rifle otherwise and a nice alternative to the run of the mill DPMS rifles. I have more confidence in the Brownells implementation over a DPMS.

I have come across the problem with the M16 A1 retro rifle. I have found the same problem with the do it yourself stripped uppers that you produce, and the complete rifles that are built by Aero precision for you guys. The fit between the barrel and the upper receivers is so sloppy that when mounting the barrel into the upper receiver, the barrel will turn clockwise causing the front sight block gas block to cant to the right so badly that when sighting the rifle in you have to adjust the rear peep sight all the way to the left just to have the bullet hit where it is supposed to on paper. I have also seen the KZbin guys reviewing these built rifle by Aero Precision that the rear peep sight was moved all the way to the max left position just to have accurate Fire On Target. My question is why would you produce a barrel that doesn't fit the upper receiver well enough so that the front sight block gas block doesn't can't to the left??? And what do you want to do about these problems??.

The round that NATO uses is hotter than the standard 308. So yes, the 7.62 NATO is hotter than 308.

Ashton Powell military brass is typically thicker than civilian brass, so there is less volume in the case. Less volume with the same amount of gas leads to higher pressures

Ashton Powell unless you purposely buy .308 that’s hotter than 7.62 NATO, then yeah .308 is hotter. But on average 7.62 NATO is hotter than standard .308.
