Any thoughts in this antenna for Marine use - on the hardtop of a flybridge?

We are actually investigating the new MIMO-4 series of antennas for Marine users. I think that new antenna will provide more suitable options. We should have a unit in hand in the coming few weeks, and I'll do a KZbin video on it soonest thereafter.

Hi David. Thank you for this video. Can't wait to hear your review of the RUT950 as well. I got a Poynting MIMO-3 and a RUT955 here in Brazil and would love to find out how you configured the SIM management in RUT950. COngratulations for the great channel. Greeting from far away ! Best, Daniel

Daniel Fink much appreciated!

You mentioned the nighthawk. Have you tested them? I find it hard to believe that they justify the cost from a performance only standpoint. Almost twice the price of a B818 as well

Radu Bonte yes, I have a NightHawk and B818. I focus on the products that our network operators provide as part of their contracts and present an alternative in the Teltonika range for those users who don’t have contracts or need something different (Teltonika is a bit more rugged)

Nice review. Thanks David. Those cable holder thingies I think are "Saddles". I wonder how much wind noise it would generate?

Saddles...I would not have thought of that during my shooting of the video at all. Many thanks for that Brandon

Hi! Have you ever tried to plug 2 2x2 mimo Antennas in a 4x4 lte Router? Thanks for your good and interesting content!
@RFShop4 жыл бұрын
Hi! No, not yet. I'm still playing with 2x2 MIMO routers and hoping to get a sponsor for a 4x4 MIMO Router soon :) I did confirm that I can just reach a local 5G cell from my own backyard earlier this afternoon, so it's certainly in our video plans for the coming months!

Hi David. Greetings from the west of Ireland. Excellent review, very detailed. One questions: Can the SMA connectors easily be removed? I need to shorten the cables and I would like to reuse the same ones. Thank you.
@RFShop3 жыл бұрын
Hi Karen! Thanks for question. We lived in Limerick for 3years before moving to Adelaide 😊👍🏻 Unfortunaly the SMA connectors are meant to be firmly attached. It would not be possible to re-use them. However, you could perhaps ask Peter (RFShop UK) to provide you connectors!

Took my Poynting MIMO to my Motorhome dealer as I didn’t want to risk my warranty fitting it myself as the Motorhome is only 3 month old. The dealer refused to fit it because of the flimsy plastic spigot and the poor sealing. The technician also stated that he didn’t feel it was a good idea drilling 6 holes in the roof. He also told me what I suspected that it would only be comparable with a campervan such as a VW Transporter with a thin steel roof and not a Motorhome with a 70mm cavity. Be warned.

The antenna gets installed and used with great success in Europe and the US. It also is deployed with great results in motor rallies in public display and clear branding. The plastic spigot, with some proper sealant creates a firm bond and good seal.
