The slashdot.org on this told me that it uses a Fluid bearing(Wikipedia explains it) with air being the fluid. Personally I couldn't come up with an orientation this should not work in.

Don't quite get the dislikes this video is getting. It's just announcing a potentially new (and great) invention. Typical youtube audience don't grasp that and just expect immediate, in your face entertainment.

Thanks jrhelgeson. I've seen it too by now (the video actually about the device itself, the one that wasn't out when this video was released), but my comment still stands as the title of the video remains the same and the content just as disappointing.

Yeah, would have been good to actually see the damn cooler at work for more than 4 seconds. I couldn't care less about the company, their employee's, their campus, their receptionists, their email or website.... well, anything about them. I wanted to see the cooler. Stupid marketers. Rename this video "An overview of WhateverOurCompanyNameIs".

This is not an overview of the Sandia Cooler, this is an overview of your company. Shut up and stop trying to sell me on how great your company is, and show me the damned technology, benchmark it against other common and stock coolers for various sockets and actually impress your potential customers - I really couldn't care less about the rest.
