OVERVIEW - Yamaha MonitorMix

We use these in our worship group. Our mixer is the QL5 and we use Sennheiser wireless IEM's. I'm trying to figure out a way to save my mix settings so if somebody uses my body pack when I'm not there, I can recall my own mix. If anybody knows of a way to do this, it would be greatly appreciated!

How would you setup the mixes so you can pan in the MonitorMix app?

New to this app and one issue I've had is that I'm not sure how to change the aux channel I want to control once I'm in the app. I know typically you shouldn't have to change that very often but in some situations, I will need to. My app keeps connecting me to the original channel I chose and I can't seem to find where or how to change the aux channel I'm working in...

Monitor Mix is really just to use with a single mix. You won't be able to switch to a different mix without signing out and re-logging in for every mix. If you need to switch and control multiple Aux mixes you'd be better off using the Yamaha Stage Mix app which gives you control of all the sends on faders / aux mixes as well as your main mix.

It's a cool app but it could be better if you could hear the sound on the app making for a cheap in-ear monitor which would reduce even more wires and devices on stage.

because the app relies on the wifi network, I think the audio latency would just be to bad to be practical. Maybe with WIFI 7 we will see some improvements on wifi audio latency.

Is this app is best used for in-ear monitor or monitor wedges?

You could use it either way or with a mixture of both, depending on how you set it up

So as a drummer I can monitor the click track so it's not playing out to the audience?? If so how?

The FOH tech would leave the fader all the way down for that channel, so it would not play in the house. You are controlling your monitor mix only when using the MonitorMix app.

Can you control the Front of House with this app?

No. This is for 1 mix (monitor) channel per user for musician to only change their mix. The StageMix app gives control of the complete FOH console.

Can you have audio from the mixer in the app? Because I have TF5 and I have stagemix, monitormix working with my mixer but no audio available to the devices. I can control faders and plus, but no audio.

This is not how it works, unfortunately. It's not technically possible to get audio without delay and with proper quality via wifi to your device. You control faders and stuff via application, setting up a mix for an AUX bus, but then you have to connect headphone amp or wireless transmitter to this AUX bus to get actual audio
