since some people are confused: - mercy is from switzerland. she speaks german because it's one of the official languages there since "swiss" is not a language - roadhog was born in new zealand but moved to australia to assist in the omnic war - bastion was built in germany - reaper was born in the united states, however, his ethnicity is hispanic - symmetra and reaper are not black (how do you think that 💀) - torbjorn is swedish, making his daughter, brigitte, also swedish. reinhardt is german and is brigitte's godfather, but isn't related to either of them (he's torb's best friend) - baptiste is from haiti, a french speaking country, which is why he speaks french - tracer is not australian, she literally has the flag of the uk on her jacket - orisa is from numbani, a fictional city in africa

it's just that mercy got a german voice actress instead of a swiss one, i can hear it and the difference in accent, and the use of standard german instead of authentic "swiss german" is noticable. when you play the game in german however, mercy's voice actress is in fact swiss

A slight correction, but Baptiste speaks Haitian Creole, not French. The languages do sound similar, but they each have a different structure.
