I want to address that I do appreciate what OVERWATCH 2 is doing in general, but as a long time fan of Overwatch, I’m just not digging the pace. I get that a new hero would cause the balance to get out of whack, but for me *personally* I was just a little disappointed. But please don’t let my little disappointment ruin your enjoyment. the reason there isn't a new hero every season (it'll be every other) is because it would be too chaotic. also overwatch seasons are fairly short so expecting a new hero every 2 months is just hyping yourself up for disappointment, either the hero would be to op, or it would be really underpowered, and they would probably be really forgettable

Turns out they had already said that heroes in OW would release every two seasons, and it kind of makes sense. In Apex a legend’s kit is a complement to the gunplay, while on OW it’s their whole identity, and whatever a hero brings to the table will have a larger impact on the balance of the game because of that. It makes sense that a development cycle would take longer.

I can give you that maybe they're redirecting more resources to the PvE department than the new characters one, but they also had a lot of time to design new characters between the transition from Ow1 to Ow2

Please don't call this season dissapointing, We've had literally the best patch notes in probably 3 years completely shifting up tanks and some DPS. Just because we don't have a new hero doesn't make it a bad season. Not only that but world cup is restarting and we are gonna be getting colabs with anime studios down the line as well as the devs talking about A LOT of new changes coming season 4 like the removal of map pools and rank resets and the end of seasons and so on.

Not getting a hero in every season allows the developers to focus on other cool stuff, this is the main problem of apex after so many heroes it's just boring and the content besides the heroes is always pretty bad. So I really like the fact that we don't get a hero every season. Beside this was the schedule of ow1 hero releases when they used to release heroes. And it worked pretty well.

Yh I liked the massive patch which spiced up the meta a lot and the way the game plays. If macro actually went through the patch a bit and looked at a lot of the changes he would see a lot of quality of life changes which he make think makes this season a bit less disappointing. Tanks are supposed to have high health or else whats the point of playing them. Genji is a really annoying character and they did nothing about him, as well as sombra. Tanks are supposed to be able to break the frontlines and wreak some havoc now I can no longer get a charge kill with reinhart if im going up against more than one attacker. And they ruined roadhog the buff is not a good trade off.

Seeing their BP now include credit, I am actually debating whether to grind S3 or not... seeing you know, Apex S16 is coming, and depend on the actual execution, may be the closest we have to Halo. Also, sometimes, some heroes are overlaps. Take LoL's Sona and Seraphine EDIT: Junkrat's skin is 紅孩兒, from Journey to the West. According to the novel (it's not even mythology - it's a novel written in Ming dynasty), he fought against the Monkey King, lost, and resulted in a revenge plot from the Iron Fan Princess and Ox King.

Hate to say this but this is kinda of a L take on season 3, especially coming from macro. The patch notes will actually carry the season and with me being free to play, being able to earn a legendary skin of my choice is really cool. Plus kiriko mythic skin will probably be the reason why I might spend money. The apex thing on the other hand, I think it’s gonna be one of the better seasons ,in my opinion, because they are focusing on the problems apex has been having for a while now. Great vid though

Usually I understand Macros opinions. But it seems me and so many other viewers find the lack of a new hero not bad. If anything it helps keep things calmer and not have to constantly adapt to new things. Apex is of course doing a giant change so adding a legend would make it crazier. But overwatch doesn't always need a hero to adapt to, Kiriko is still a pain, Ramettra is still strong, Every hero has their benefit and Mercy is probably still very good

Quite possibly the worst take I've seen on this season so far. This season is the beginning of reform in OW2's state so it shouldn't be regarded as disappointing as the whole game has basically been improved to a reasonable degree. The devs are listening to the community and are starting to take the game in the right direction so we can't really complain too much on that front.

I get it. After years of barely any content in OW1 I wanted tons of maps and heroes added. But in 3 seasons OW2 put out 4 new heroes and 7 new maps. This season also shows some goodwill from the devs with the One Punch Man collab, lots of new events, creditsand things over the horizon. So it could've been a lot better, and I really wanted a new support, but this is still a good step forward and makes the future of this game a bit brighter

I like to think of S3 as an overwatch equivalent of R6's Operation Health. A season dedicated to fixing poor decisions, bad systems and overall focusing more on having a playable, enjoyable game rather than releasing more over (or under) powered characters and overpriced reskins and heirlooms without having a healthy spine also known as a good, working game. It would be really inconsiderate if a studio ever did something like that, luckilly, game devs and management wouldn't allow things like that to happen in an age of modern gaming, where making hotfixes has never been easier.

Both apex and overwatch didn’t release a hero because they want to focus on improving their games… the ranked system has completely changed for the better (I went from hardstuck gold to high diamond in the first week), you now get free currency for playing, the best support in the game is getting a mythic skin, overwatch is having their first ever collab..

It's really not fair to compare apex and overwatch in how quick new heros come out, In apex you need a passive, one ability and an ultimate ability, some voice lines and some skins, in overwatch you need that, more abilities and a unique primary. Also there are WAY more OW heros making it harder to come up with unique ability and new heros almost always mixes up the meta more than apex because that has more focus on individual weapons.

A new hero comes out every other season with maps in all seasons. As someone who really plays this game its overall better cause overwatch is a difficult game to balance and it allows them to not throw out broken characters. Ramattra is like the first time a new character wasn't meta or broken on release possibly in this games history. Also if you look at all the changes made this season, the events, and skins this season is far from a disappointment. Also overwatch isn't hear to mediate to those coming in and out for a few days cause those who have been following the days prior to this season have been hyped. We don't need a hero we need balance cause this game won't be fun as sourjourn is this games seer on release levels of strong. They are not releasing two next season. If anything will kill thos game it'd going to be misinformation cause I swear it's just soo easy to find.

Guess people are gonna think any season is disappointing if they don't have a new hero but some do have to remember that the scehdule they wanna keep to develop a character, which includes concept, cosmetics, voicelines, and lore, is basically the same schedule from OW1. Building up to OW2, we got Sojourn, Queen, Kiriko, and Ramattra so that comes down to over a year's worth of work just on that alone that was given to us in a few months. Now the next two heroes are gon a be supports and they're still balancing with Ram in the mix. This isn't LoL where they can crank out heroes and I think a lot of us prefer that because the characters have that level of care put in to them thag I wouldn't want the devs to change.

i think getting a new hero in the pool, after the mess that was season 2 would hurt the game more than it would help. The balancing team has clearly been struggling a lot. I think this season is doing much better than the previous 2, but its stuff that should've been there since the beggining. Blizzard did not have to commit the mistakes other companies did years ago, they could've learned from them and avoided these mistakes. It feels like the battle pass idea was thrown in there last minute and they didn't really put any ressearch into how to make a good monetization system. (also cramming more heroes in the game will drive away many returning players. There's no way i'm coming back to apex, too many heroes made the game too confusing to me, and all of my friends that used to play with me)

I don’t think a new hero each season is good idea especially competitively since each hero that has come out so far has been meta in some form (ramattra the least meta shifting). It would cause the game to have overwatch 1s problem of power creep but exponentially quicker.

Personly i am very happy the made somethings right and they really stepped up i think making to many Hero makes a game build up hype for inblance we saw it soijon and kiriko i love the fact that they dont over do it again

Gotta say I disagree man, I really don't mind not having a new hero. Plus the new maps are cool and I'm looking forward to the events that are definitely coming. Overwatch 2 battlepass and Apex's BP have different strategies behind them and overall I think OW2 is more consumer friendly.

I'm been having such a horrible time on overwatch 2 Im on gold 2 and I lost 13 games and no wins, furthermore there soo many genji players these days taking out me and my whole team by himself even when I or my team is using zarya or a Moira,,, tbh now idk to quit overwatch 2 for good, (ps you didn't explain why this season pass is disappointing, you didn't even rant about it either)
