I've been following OWL for this whole season, and what Coluge said about people running the anti-monke comp has rung really true. It's a cheese comp, but ultimately you have to mirror if the cheese doesn't work because Sombra/Tracer/Winston is incredibly good at setting up and executing dives. Also defensive nanos is where the Brig raid boss meme has come from/developed into for OWL. In the first few weeks, Boston was on map 4 with London and LJG/Izayaki held the bot against the whole london team by first using nano, then rally when nano wore off.

OWL is just Winston/Tracer/Sombra/Brig/Ana without fail. If a team ends up playing Ram or Echo, they just lose. Big time. It's so boring. World Cup so far is much more interesting.

@@QuarianGuy Because the average level is lower, so good teams troll and worse teams play to their strengths instead of trying to force meta. Also it's not quite true, Ramattra, JQ and Dva were decent based on map picks, the map pool for many weeks of play simply lent themselves more to dive play.

Not undeserved. Winston is very good, but he's one of the least fun tanks to both be up against or have on your team as a DPS or Support. If you play with one on your team, you cannot rely on him for cover or protection because his barrier has a long downtime and he's all about mobility and disruption. If the enemy has one you gotta deal with a hero that just randomly jumps on you and zaps you to death and depending on who you play, there's not much you can do about that because most heroes don't win that dps race and you cannot dodge the zap unless you are playing a super high mobility hero that can easily disengage. You know how Flats keeps saying the game isn't fun during times when Hog is meta? That frankly also applies to Winston to a degree. He's awfully obnoxious to see for most non-tanks.

It sounds like you don’t have an argument because you’re trying to dismiss the opinion based on rank and nothing else. You’re using the appeal to authority fallacy by treating the game like only pro player opinions matter. There are a LOT more metal rank players than the higher ranks. What you’re doing is supporting the tyranny of the minority by treating lower ranked players like their opinions don’t matter. Simply because their opinion is different than yours.

@@paytonyoder1260 yes, usually when someone is complaining that Winston isn't fun / skill based they are a metal / casual player. And yet again yes, I am saying that the vast majority of players options do not matter. Winston is not a dominant hero at your rank, he could be, but your all so hellbent on playing rein (and then wondering why your hard stuck) that as soon as a player picks anything but rein you all run to the subreddits and forums to complain that 'X hero' is broken / not fun to have on your team. It's a different way of playing the game, just because it doesn't involve sitting behind a rein shield on Cass with a mercy pocket, does not mean it isn't fun. You all need to understand there are other ways to play the game. Winston is not really even dominant in GM. You have to understand that pro meta has evolved to this not because of Winston's power level but instead because of the inability to counter pick due to cassidy, torb, and reaper being weak at pro level right now due to sombra and tracers power-level. Winston is far better against tracer and sombra than DVA and Ball while he can still enable them therefore making him strong. Arguably in ranked Winston falls very short on heroes like Ram, DVA, and Sigma. As counter picking in ranked is a lot easier, not to mention if you are not coordinated, Winston will fall short especially when playing in to counters. My point is you do not understand the game, you might think you do, you might believe you are right about everything, but you are not. Hot take, but your opinion IS irrelevant. This games balance should not revolve around mentally-impaired plat players. The game is best when balanced for pro play. Hell the meta does not even change what you all play.

Tbh he needs another rework and if I could list 4 things which can be give or take to put him in as a real viable B+ to A tier support. 1. His life grip heals 100 flat hp, has a single target cleanse, and gives an additional .5-.7 seconds of invulnerability after they reach the pull destination so they don't get one tapped once animation ends. 2. The tree of life lasts for 3-5 more seconds, is invulnerable for the first 3 seconds, and has a cleanse on its first pulse and last pulse (or a 1 time cleanse for each player hit with a debuff while tree is active) and a larger radius that's possible able to heal through walls. 3. Able to use heal and dmg at the same time, just have both hands out so we can simultaneously dmg and heal. 4. His hotbox is still too large for a support so it either needs to change (the petals on his back shouldn't count as a hit able target) or he needs more HP gain on his double jump Bonus 5: allow his double jump to go wherever the user whatever direction the user wants up, down, side to side, f*ck it diagonal. Maybe not all of these but imo 2-3 of them would definitely help make him viable. Why am I writing this? Because I'm a drowning life weaver main. Wanna know what's better than stepping on a leggo? Me playing *Wife Leaver* using ult, watching my tree meet god/teammates because the enemy team has a bastion, bob, dva ult, kiriko rush, defense matrix, junkrat tire, rocket barrage, mei wall, whole hog, rampage gaw DAYUM why the list so LONG?!?!?
