Only I hide all that stuff under my bed, with tons of Lego: Bionicle figures all over them. I don't do Pinatas...

What I really, really like about this animation is that although Soldier 76's face is almost entirely covered, the very subtle movements of his eyebrows still hint at his expression. It's most obvious when he's standing on the rooftop at the end, but you can also really see the difference between when he starts chasing after the thugs before they throw the grenade, and the last shot of him right before the grenade blows up.

3:50 Looking at this part from a literature story telling point. Its important that in this part it shows that Soldier 76 is clouded in his ruthless vigilante. He beats up a enemy even tho he pleads him to stop. The truck comes in and guy throws a explosive which was intended for 76 but ends up bouncing over to Alejandra. 76 makes a split second decision he hesitates as he looks back at the girl and the enemy that's about to run away. Then he chooses to save Alejandra remembering that he was a hero and that he saved lives before. Its why he said "old habits die hard" because it was overwatch's leader it was a habit to save lives and protect the innocent to minimize damage.

The world wanted him dead after all his hard work to save and protect them, hoped he WAS when he was thought to have died in the destruction of Overwatch HQ, but he still does his job, still protects humanity when they turned against him. Froggyman145 I think deep down he is still, but this is not for humanity anymore. I think soldier is more evil than reaper. Soldier is all about personal revenge and justice. His own justice. You can see how merciless he is with these gangsters. He is inhumanly ruthless when he fights them, and he almost let a little girl die just to get after them. Ok, he saved her but hesitated until the very last moment, as he said old habits die hard. Whereas reaper may commit crimes worse than soldier's, but he does it for a greater good (in his point of view) and is willing to sacrifice everything he has for it. Soldier did not sacrifice anything, he just had all he had taken from him and is seeking vengeance. If you compare soldier's behaviour in this cinematic to reaper's in the sombra cinematic you'll get what I'm talking about. Reaper lets a weaponless enemy run, and is only concerned about the success of the mission. Soldier gets an unarmed, crawling and begging opponent and beats his head to the ground.

I don’t use the origins skin, I don’t use any skins that change the visor. I use his classic and his golden skin as I had been wanting to get a skin for him. He is and will always be my main, his character reminds me of my father, someone who doesn’t like to admit he was once a hero. Doing a full movie means picking one or a few protagonists, devising a plot, and investing all the resources that could otherwise make most of the heroes a short for themselves. I'd definitely like a movie as well, but the shorts are a good step first off. Heck, Warcraft is coming out later, so I imagine in time if it retains its success there may be an Overwatch coming out eventually if Warcraft does good.

I’d just like to say that my favorite moment in this entire short is the little exchange at the end, where Alejandra asks Jack if he’s a hero. Jack replies he isn’t anymore, and walks off, but Alejandra’s still smiling as she whispers “I think you are.” That part just gets me, you know? Jack’s lost faith in himself, has very little faith in the concept of rebuilding Overwatch, and clearly no longer sees himself as someone deserving of the title of “Hero” after the Fall and Overwatch’s subsequent dissolution. But this one girl still believes in him. Even though she knows he doesn’t think of himself as one, to her, he IS a hero. At the lowest point in your life, when even you don’t believe in yourself, there is always someone who still believes in you.

My favorite part is definitely when he talks to Alejandra, but the part that you’re referring to gave me chills. He sounds almost villain like, which is what makes it so cool. He doesn’t sound like a “hero”. If you were to look at Jack without knowing his past, your first thought wouldn’t be that he was the brave strike commander of overwatch and somewhat father-like to many members.
