People tend not to realize just how absolutely brokenly powerful strait percentage damage mitigation like Iron Clad is once you start stacking it with other damage mitigators. I can't even count how many times I have had to correct people who claim "It's only like giving him an extra 105 health" or "They nerfed his tank mode and made it weaker than before." I guess most people just don't know how to do math. While Ironclad, he is basically like a 460+ hp hero. I mean Soldier body shots at point blank range only do 8 damage to him after ironclad and armor mitigation. That reduces soldier from 200 DPS to 80 and Bastion can heal 75 hp per second so it means if Bastion is in sentry mode and healing soldier is basically tickling him. It means soldier can empty an entire clip into ironclad bastion while he is healing at point blank range and at the end of it Bastion will still be at 288 hp. He'll be down a total of 12 1/2 hit points. (This math doesn't include head shots.) Bastion is an absolute damage tanking beast now.

Sombra's Hack got buffed (slight decrease in both "cast" time and cooldown), and Ana's 'nade got nerfed pretty hard (heal buff time got cut in half, and only adds 50% healing instead of a full extra 100%)

Liberty Prime overriding it will be unfair tbh. the best way to balance it would be by making the damage reductions multiplicative instead of additive using dva's ult for example (1000 damage) instead of 35%+50%=85% damage reduction+ 5 (from armor), resulting in 144(rounded down) damage, it would be the damage reduced by 35% and then by 50% and substracted by 5 resulting in 320 damage which is more than enough to kill him. first example was additive scaling the 2nd is multiplicative scaling.

Nanoboost lasts 5 seconds, you're better off with a Mei in pretty much any situation to stall. Once the nanoboost wears off he is now far far less tanky (still would be 300+150 assuming torb/sym) with a damage reduc of 35% xD.

I think this is a bug. Buffs are supposed to stack *multiplicatively*. Nano Boost + Ironclad should be a total of 67.5% damage resist. Those Genji swings should be doing 76 damage per swing on armor, or 81 on health. But they're not. They're dealing 13, which WOULD be the amount they would do if the buffs stacked *additively*, for a total of 85% damage resist. That's the problem. There's an issue with the buffs that lets them stack, when they shouldn't be.

This is a pretty conditional tactic, though. I see this more as a "break the line" or "hold the line". Like if you're pinned on Hanamura outside the double doors you can punch through, or holding any capture point to stall for the rest of your team to arrive. At least Bastion will be played more, and a suitable target for the Nano Boost at times.

Hey Blame, just wanted to point out that Blizzard has recently stated that they intend to have Bastion's damage resistance be capped at 70%, even with nanoboost on. I dunno if they've implemented it into the recent ptr patch that changed Roadhog's hook and gun, but if it is, you should do an updated video, since a 70% resistance cap should make Bastion less resistant against a number of those ults.

They'll probably do a specific patch that effects how much anas ult buffs him. His passive isn't too much on its own, it's only combined with ana's ult that it's an issue. They'll probably make ana's ult apply 15% resistance to him so it rounds up to an even 50% that everyone gets.

Nano-boosted Bastion used to be a meme. It's still a meme but now it's really, really funny. I'm surprised the damage modifiers are additive for a total of 85% because if you factor in his self healing and the fact that Ana will probably pocket her nano-boost target you could probably have 6 ults hit him at once and it'd do nothing.

In fairness it's pretty hard to kill anything that has been nanoed but sleep. earthshatter, or just running away is always the best thing to avoid a teamwipe. At least it doesn't give a speedboost anymore. Also the nano is so short you'd have to very unlucky to activate your ult at the same time.

Even if i think 85% resistance is very overkill, i don't think they should nerf Bastion directly. What i mean is that they should make that Boosting bastion with Ana's ult will make him have 50% resistance no matter in which mode Bastion is. So if he's in Recon mode he should have full +50% resistance and if he switches to Sentry or Tank mode the boost will turn into a +15% resistance so he's gonna still have that 50% resistance total. Vicerersa if he get's boosted while in Sentry/Tank and he switches to Recon. Ithink that should be fair.

This could have used one more test involving Zen's discord. My math says Discord is now the single best counter to Ironclad, and it is also the only way you'll be able to kill a nano-boosted Bastion.... because the bonuses are additive. It would mean that a discord orb literally triples damage against a nano-boosted Bastion, from 15% to 45%.

I'm not sure what you said about McCree not locking on is accurate. It is more likely that he didn't lock on because Bastion's head shot area isn't visible from the front while he is in turret configuration.

That One Guy over buffed? sym just had a second ult added, starts with 6 turrets and replaced an old ability with a new one that isn't as strong as some people make it out to be. bastion wasn't overbuffed either, he was reworked just like sym but instead they just moved a bunch of numbers around but it changed him enough to be like a sym rework. oh and extra range on sym gun which was needed to help her be viable in a way. bastion is fine they just need a quick number change again and we'll be fine. keep your male/female reproductive organ in place.

Think you could've done the Pharah ult a bit better considering you would't aim it at someone like that. You'd aim it a bit lower down so rockets would be likely to fly over top him. I don't think this is too overpowered. It will just be a great strategy for stalling. Also just remember that Ana's old biotic grenade + her healing also made anybody just about invincible and that was on a 10 second cooldown

Okay maybe the passive will need some tweaking but you gotta admit the other changes they did to him really gave him a more defined role and made him more valuable. Seriously in live if you don't play in shit tier people will always counter him extremely hard and only works in gimmicky surprise strats (Which only work for one fight and then he gets countered again)

Can you see the problem is not Bastion but Ana? I mean Ana deals more damage than McCree, heals faster than Mercy, has a ult that shaped the Tank meta and can neutralize a enemy for 5 seconds. I think she's one best character fun-wise and gameplay-wise, but she's broken since she was released.

You did the Pharah testing wrong. You need to be in the air, and aiming slightly downward to maximize it's damage. since the rockets can fly past enemies and hit the ground. You are also suppose to fire a rocket before using your ultimate to increase burst damage. You did something similar on Soldier76, where you fired a helix rocket and then ultimated.

so, u have a mistake - another bastion almost kill him cause nanoboost was stoped. so, as u can see, even bastion can't kill nanoboosted bastion. but what about nanoboosted bastion vs nanoboosted bastion? also, try to check damage from 'rocket jump', when bastion shoot under itself to jump. sorry for my bad english, i hope you understood me

Zylbrad must be fucking thrilled about these changes. Assuming they don't do the smart thing and just cause ana's nano boost reduction to be the damage reduction limit for bastion in his transformations. i.e. instead of stacking 50 and 35, just cause nano to add 15% reduction to keep him at 50% like everyone else.

I realized what Blizzard screwed up. Ironclad's 35% resist is added to nano's 50% resist for 85% resist. It should take 32.5% damage, not 15%.

Nox currently its additive which is op. what smiley is suggesting is the multiplicative method of adding reduction which is much more fair and balanced

If they didn't make it additive to the damage reduction, but instead multiplicitive, it would be so much better. 35% + 50% makes you take 15% damage. Instead, take that 35%, and multiply it by 50%, and add that to the original 35%.

Somehow it does make sense that the bastion really IS overpowered and can take that much dmg. They were one of the fiercest omnics in the omnic crisis. Guess this is the reason why. I think blizzard has this all planned out. We'll see what happens when it goes live. Although, for the games sake. Turret mode maybe should get balanced, but not the ultimate.

No man. Bastion is fine. He was way too useless before , now he got some love. He is sacrifice mobility , and a stationary target in a fast paced game is a joke. Now this fixed and he finally have a chance against other heroes unlike before. He is perfect right now in the PTR. Otherwise Ana was always op , and she is still op at the current days. Her biotic nade and nanoboost is insane in higher levels. That's why we see a lots of Ana main M\GM nowadays. Also Ana is the responsible for lots of painful tactics like Beyblade , and the most hated Tank Meta. Sadly Blizzard fail to admit it and instead of fix Ana , they punishing other heroes (like D.va) to fix what she ruined. Seriously Bastion is fine until Ana not shows up , after that... pain will coming.

Third Street Saints so you're high as well, okay. they did nerf ana just for your information along with the tanks so it was a combines effort between 2 tanks that were meta and ana who can't heal at as fast of a rate as currently. nobody has to get nerfed or buffed again. all they need to do, like other intellectuals have suggested, is make the damage reduction for the 35 and 50 percent multiplicative and not additive because it makes a huge differences without directly nerfing a single character which could be detrimental towards the entire meta game. No nerf needs to go around to fix a simple calculation problem that when fixed will honestly still leave bastion amazing viable.
