Hi There,
Today’s video is for Overwatering Geraniums plants.
The frost is coming , we have to save our Geraniums So that we can grow them again in next spring .
I have 4 geranium plants in a big pot , today I will take them out from the pot and give them a hard pruning and cleaning with water so that no bugs are there.
I am going to leave them in shady area for 3 days so that they can dry out.
I will overwinter them in Two ways and they will be in my garage ( if outside temperature is 32 F then garage temperature will be 44 F so 12 degree difference which is good).
No 1 . Wrapping them with newspaper and storing in a plastic container with lid , one side of lid will be open a little bit for air circulation so that plants can breathe.
No 2 . Putting perlite in a plastic container and burring the Geranium plants in a way that they are covered with a thick layer of perlite ( perlite is a good insulator) because perlite can protect them from cold then I will cover the container lid with leaving one side unlock for airflow .
There will be no water or moisture, I will check these boxes every 3 to 4 weeks if there is anything wrong like mold etc.
If everything goes smooth then in 2nd week of February I will plant them in small pots and will keep indoors till outside temperature is warm enough , once the temperature is above 50 F then I will put them outside in some shady area for two weeks then in full sun.
I hope this experiment will be successful, I will update you guys in my future videos .
Thanks for watching the video.
