Friends to lovers is my favorite troupe. I'm amazed at how Colin has matured. He's become husband material. I believe he's loved Penelope for years, but didn't realize it until now. He was always nice to her and a good friend. He's the only one who talked to her at parties and even danced with her. He's so in love now and is proud of Penelope. And Penelope has blossomed into a gorgeous young lady. The new color palate suits her so much, and makes her unique beauty stand out. I’ve read a number of comments saying that the Polin relationship was rushed in part 1 of season 3. While I can always have more shots of Colin suffering and longing after Pen (lol), I think this edit proves that it wasn’t rushed at all, and was the culmination of 2 seasons worth of build up. true. i notice some said that it was rushed. i didn't feel rushed at all. because season 1 and 2 made the build up well already. i don't need to drag it any longer. i think season 3 is the time for them to confess their love now. i wanted more POLIN scenes like interactions because I think the side characters are getting more than intended. but I understand that they need to build up Francesca and Benedict's story now, that's why they are adding their scenes a lot. and atleast give Viscount Anthony and Viscountess Kate Bridgerton to say goodbye scene because they are going on a second honeymoon or just a formal exit. looking forward for part 2 but it's such a long wait.

On second watch, I don’t know why I didn’t recognize that Colin was intentionally putting on this new persona. He told Pen “charm can be taught.” He’s playing a roll that all the men and women around him seem to enjoy. He's quite sensitive as lady bridgerton said, whatever he feels shows on his face, and he can't feel intimacy if there's not a connection as he has with pen. I loved how confident he was about his feelings and threw himself out there even with the possibility that she'll reject him and choose lord debling When she said " but colin we're friends.." in the carriage he looked sooo heartbroken and shaken deep my heart hurt... luke Newton is an amazing actor, the subtle details in this acting are fabulous

I guess everyone felt moved when Penelope asked for a kiss. Like damn gurl😭. I felt her pain and despair and when she said thank you and just walked away, I definitely cried for her😢. It is not the usual jitter feels from the first kiss of other couples from this show, I just felt sad for Penelope cuz you can relate how hard it is for her to be in this society, being overlooked and ignored because of how she looks. All she can ask is a kiss from someone whom she thought will never consider her, but still thankful for being given the favor and walked away.

In earlier seasons she was wearing the super high "waist" empire dresses, that actually hit in the middle of her chest and managed to make her look completely flat chested (which is no small feat!) and childlike. As soon as she starts wearing clothes more flattering for her shape her entire silhouette changes! I just can't get over how stunning she is, in this season in particular. Omg the carriage scene 😂😂😂, I obviously read it in the books and imagined something a little more enclosed and with more privacy and then I saw the scene on Netflix and I was freaking out the whole time because they were getting hot and bothered in the carriage with the little window right next to them and the curtains were open and anyone could’ve seen anything and everything from outside as they were passing by and not to mention the driver and the other guy on the carriage who were probably hearing everything going on in there, there was 0 privacy and even if the curtains had been closed, it’s not like the inside of the carriage is sound proof . I’m not saying I didn’t enjoy the scene but at the same time it was very nerve wrecking to watch while thinking of all the things I just mentioned. When I read the book and imagined the scene, my imagination was more like a very private carriage where no one could look from the outside in and the carriage door had a glass window and not just an open window where everything could be heard even if closed and since the book scene was on a completely different route since they were going from the city to the featherington house, I imagined them passing by less populated neighborhoods and more empty if not empty streets while on the Netflix scene they were on route to Bridgerton house on a very busy night with very busy streets full of people.

people saying that their relationship seemed rushed through s3 part 1 should watch this video. they've been CHILDHOOD FRIENDS, colin always seeks her out during social events and probably even more during pen's afternoons in the bridgerton house without her maid/chaperone, which probably gave them even more freedom to talk and cultivate their friendship (hence one of the reasons why she loved these visits so much). yes, we had the "i'd never dream of courting pelenope" phrase and honestly i think that he was too influenced by these male friends, by how his brothers were womanizers and the whole third child thing going on. he put on a mask of a man that society wanted him to be (even lady whistledown talks about it, c'mon now) and tried his hardest to pretend, but deep inside he truly cared about penelope. his s*xual encounters with other women were satisfying physically, but they lacked emotional connection!!!! like the one he has with penelope!!!!! and such thing is obvious in the paragraph that penelope reads on his diary. that look he gave her after being back from these travels during s2 screams so, but he probably just thought it was some sort of platonic affection. they aren't strangers like daphne and simon or kate and anthony. these two exchanged letters for MONTHS once colin was gone, too. he just needed a wake up call, that being their kiss. that's how friends to lovers work! and i eat it up every single time

She loves the drama, so I think it will be very likely that he will react differently to how he reacted in the books 😭

I love Friends to lovers tropes and I also love the woman falling in love first then the man finally falling in love and acting “moony” and the woman stops acting “moony” Just because he’s acting “moony” doesn’t mean she has to (anymore). Boys like to pursue and she just calmly maturely let him pursue until he was desperately in love with her and realized he didn’t want to lose her I think Colin cared about her all along even just platonically at first. There was always a sweet relationship between them….

I firmly believe Colin always loved Pen he just didn't have a clue thats what it was. Maybe it's Luke being brilliant but every scene they're in as soon as he sees her he stares a bit and there's a scene in season 1 where he's singing and his pitch flaters when she walks in the room before going back to being completely perfect. He always noted her and saw her and spoke to her. He THOUGHT it was just because he felt warm towards her as a friend but kissing her made him realize that his fondness had nothing to do with friendship and never had. Imho at least

So, I was not putting faith on him and Penelope after Anthony and Kate, because they did so well with the plot, chemistry and history that I got a little less excited for the next couple, but when I started to watch, it caught me SO hard that I finished in a few hours and immediately after I was craving for these two. I love them, I'm really excited for the next part and see how they are going to develop more this couple.

People saying part 1 was rushed bc the romance part got settled already don’t realize that this means part 2 will be more about pen being lady whistledown, her friendship with eloise, and colin having to deal with pen being lady whistledown when they’re supposedly happy already and are about to get married… there’s still so much more going to happen. Pen and colin’s story started in season 1, it’s only fair not to make pen’s suffering last too long into season 3.

I was never attracted to Colin in S1 and S2. Physically or personality wise. He was pompous , a bit arrogant , immature and not attractive to me at all physically. S3 i am blown away by his looks and maturity….and so very attracted to him though he is many years my junior. And watching Penelope’s transformation and maturity and confidence in S3 is inspiring. She handled him very well. Ignoring him when she should, asking him to kiss her at the perfect moment, moving on with her life to find a husband with another man as she was tired of waiting for Colin to really see her and want her and have romantic feelings for her. Acting aloof when she should… I was inspired by the way she handled him and herself in S3. The maturity and confidence in her is mesmerizing. Equally mesmerizing to me is the way Colin looks at her. His stares. Everytime he looks at her especially in S3. I am obsessed beyond all reason by S3 I cannot stop watching it (just finished reading the book Romancing mister Bridgerton) and cannot stop thinking about it. All day everyday these past two weeks. I haven’t felt this much emotion in years. It has awakened something inside me. I want to find MY Colin…. S1 was pretty good S2 I really did not like much S3 I am in love with I almost didn’t come back to Bridgerton after season 2. More than two years in between S2 and 3 and I got rid of Netflix. I stopped being interested in this show. I didn’t care anymore. Had no plans to watch it again. I am now so glad I watched part 1 of S3 and am desperately very impatiently awaiting part 2 in two weeks. Not melodramatic to say S3 has changed my life. My outlook on life. My hope Out of the shadows and into the light (that’s me!) Episode 1 is called Out of the Shadows Episode 8 is called Into the Light.
