Buying a land property close to this resort will be a very good investment especially now that landmark took over it. One can have an Abnb or even a small motel people can lodge there while they go to the resort.

Landmark will do well. Let everyone help them along by using Akanu Ibiam International Airport whenever possible and spending those hard-earned foreign currencies in Iboland. This way, the multiplier effects can be felt around Ibo cities instead of being sterilized in Lagos, Abuja and elsewhere.

Ugwuanyi is from my zone but I totally agree with u
@mcdaniayo371118 күн бұрын
You have to put things into context, Ugwuanyi was governor when state government accross the country were so broke that the central bank had to print Naira and loan it to state governments so that states could pay salary of civil servants, Ugwuanyi was governor during Covid-19 when the whole world was locked down and that affected the economy and government revenue. Now, fuel subsidy has been removed, federal government has floated the Naira which mean the government no longer subsidized our imports, also, subsidy on electricity has been partially removed. What these mean is that state and federal government now earn alot more money. It's not nice to make some comparison without putting things in proper perspective. Don't get me wrong, I salute governor Mba for his vision and courage.
@DogonTurenchi-c6y17 күн бұрын
@@mcdaniayo3711 Thank you for putting an intellectual gloss over Mr Ugwuanyis lacklustre and disastrous 8 years. However, I disagree with you. At no time during the period did Enugu state stop receiving federal allocations nor did tax collection stop, so availability of funds was never an issue. In fact, even stuff that needed little or no extra funding was a drag for him e.g. marking of Enugu roads, planting trees, installing traffic signs and signals etc. There were already people employed and paid monthly by the government to do these jobs, but they just sat there doing nothing. What type of leadership is that? Lack of funds did not stop the bloke from printing and installing his picture on billboards everywhere in the city. Nor did it prevent him from building himself a decent mansion in a nice area with high gates, ornamental trees swaying elegantly in the evening breeze, well manicured hedges and lawns while everything around him was in decay. The iconic Presidential Hotel built by Michael Okpara was abandoned as was the now completed ICC. Under his watch, public parks created by the colonial government were hijacked and defaced by thugs who built "churches" and other ridiculous eyesores with crass impunity....bro!

@@kingsleykingsley2684you guys should stop making excuses for this politicians, you guys are the reason Nigeria keeps getting worse, is it now that the state governments have money everywhere?… let’s even say there was no money, what did he do with the little he got, was it the unnecessary flyovers that he did all over Enugu, or the road patches .. please he had money bro was just a criminal and visionless, when a right leader is there you’d know the difference, Enugu was very progressive, when he took over from Sullivan all he needed to do was maintain the standard

What is modernisation to you? I hope it is not cutting down trees. Cos that is not modernisation. Most Nigerians think in that line. You actual word to use renovation of the building, landscaping or environment is regeneration. Take note.
@ikennaiwuchukwu694918 күн бұрын
To make here come to life is to use high pressure steam wash to wash off the red laterite mud that has embedded on the tarred road for years. The last time I was here was in 1997 for a wedding. I fell in love with place. I was wowed. It is a serene environment that draws you to nature. The birds, the trees and fresh air. There is a whole lot of work to be done as per interior decor to bring it to contemporary standard of this age, it is like the hotel interior is till stuck in the 1980s design, I believe Paul Owunibe will put a touch of class to the hotel. These broken stone slab should be fixed along the lake, Paul Owunibe as a UK diaspora will fixed the landscape and add a touch of his vision to the place. What I don't like is the main entrance from the road where you have the name Nike lake resort imprinted in the wall. During my first visit in 1997, at the main entrance it was surrounded by nature, no building development where in that entrance sites. I wonder who sold the land to developers to build houses in that area. From the main entrance there were no building. The Nigeria indiscriminate buildings of structures has affected Nike lake. I hope those building to be pulled down and the Enugu government reclaim their land. Cos in 1997, there was no single building on site from the main entrance of Nike Lake resort.
@adj576718 күн бұрын
@ikennaiwuchukwu6949 I agree with this. There should be no homes that close to the area. The entrance needs to be with nature. And now, when the government demands their relocation and demolition, they start wailing...

So says a ronu nong, always exuding negativity at every opportunity. What has this matter got to do with Atlantic Ocean now? Ayetoro has access to the Atlantic Ocean but you use it for open defecation only, so what is the point? Your much-vaunted Lagos is sinking fast as water levels rise. The ocean has become an albatross on your jingoist neck and instead of praying for divine help, you are gloating. Now retire to your home town Gbongan when adults are discussing important issues.
