Typically, it is recommended to take the test in the mid-morning as this is when the concentration of luteinizing hormone in your urine is highest. The LH surge that triggers ovulation can happen at any time of day.

Hi! Thank you so much for these videos. Question: I had a positive peak test of 1.92 on CD 15. The next day, my LH was 0.38. Since then, my LH levels have bounced around between 0.4-0.68. The reading is considered low but my levels are not dropping consistently. I should mention that I have irregular periods and have been diagnosed with Polycystic Ovaries (not full blown PCOS). I’ve also been temping and my BBT was 36.51 ovulation day, 36.38 on dpo 1, 36.4 on dpo 2 and 36.65 on dpo 3. Given all this information, do you think it’s likely I ovulated, or should I expect another surge? Sorry for the loaded question and thank you for all you do.
@premomfertility
@premomfertility 3 жыл бұрын
PCOS can cause elevated LH levels. You are always looking for your last darkest test line to be considered your true peak and depending on your cycle length that could be your true peak. Typically an increase in 0.5-1ºF will be considered your BBT spike. If you haven't checked out our Ask An Expert service in the app, that is a great place to ask your questions, share your charts, and test galleries with our experts to get a detailed response to any questions you may have. You can find it by tapping on 'More' on the navigation menu at the bottom of the app and then 'Ask An Expert'.

Certainly, you have the option to utilize different brands of ovulation test strips available in Nigeria. It's important to select ones known for their reliability and accuracy in detecting ovulation. Remember to carefully follow the instructions provided with the test strips you select, as they might vary among brands. You can also upload your ovulation test strip results to the Premom app under the "others" tab for tracking. Best of luck!

Hi, please know Premom adjusts its predictions based on the history of your cycle lengths and continual data input, if the app's prediction is not accurate, it will adjust once the LH peak is found through testing. Once your LH peak is marked, the predictions will change/update accordingly. The more data you log in to the app, the more accurate the prediction will be. Good luck💕

I’m on day 11 in my cycle and levels were at .2 around noon. I took my second test around 6:30 and got a “0”. No line. What could be the reason for that? I didn’t really limit my liquid intake (a complete accident) so maybe that’s why?

Hi Kristen, ovulation may vary from cycle to cycle which is normal. The low LH means your ovulation hasn't come yet. Please kindly know that diluted urine also may lead to low LH, please limit liquids intake about 2h before test. For the 1st cycle, it is recommended to try test daily for an entire cycle to help see your full LH progression. Begin testing on the day after your period ends and testing through until your next period start.

Hi , please I have some questions, 1, can I test everyday by 4pm and test again 9pm? Is the testing time too close? Because it's not possible for me to test by 10am because I will be at work , question 2, do I have to abstain from food and water 2hours before testing? 3 , do I have to hold my urine for 2hours before testing? Can I read my test after 5 minutes? Is it actually necessary to test exactly the same time everyday? 4, when I get my peak is it 100% that I will ovulate 24hours later? Or it's difference from woman to woman 👩 🤷, ? I will be waiting for your answers thank you doctor ❤️
@premomfertility
@premomfertility 2 жыл бұрын
Great questions! 1. If you are testing 4pm and 9pm but nothing before 4pm during the day, there is a possibility you can completely miss your surge if you have a rapid peak. If 10am is too late, you can test before you leave for work, whatever time that is, because your situation allows only for that. 2. No you do not have to abstain from food and water, but you should limit the amount of fluids you drink in the 2hrs before you plan to test, just so that your sample has enough time to get concentrated and not be diluted. 3. Yes you need to hold your urine for at least 2 hours before LH testing. 4. There is no way to tell exactly when you will ovulate but it will be within 24-36 hours at the very latest from your peak test. Once the egg is released, it can be fertilized for up to another 24 hours before it is reabsorbed into the body (if fertilization does not occur) Hope this answers your questions!

I’m new to using this brand. Some brands require the urine to be room temp, can I test immediately or should it sit for a bit? Also do I keep the strip in the urine until the ink has fully come across the test window or just until it starts coming across the window?
@premomfertility
@premomfertility Жыл бұрын
You can test immediately after producing the sample, no need to let the sample sit out. Also it is best to remove the test as soon as you start to see the dye begin to rise into the testing window. If you wait for the dye to fully rise, that can cause issues with saturation.

If your period or cycle is irregular, try testing daily for an entire cycle to help see your full LH progression. Begin testing on the day after your period ends and testing through until your next period start. Additionally, if you have tested for 2 or more cycles and identified your LH surge and know your body's pattern, then you can begin testing on the day about 3-5 days prior to the expected ovulation day.

Fluctuations in ovulation test results, where levels go up and down before surging again, can occur and are considered normal. For the first cycle, it is recommended to test for a whole cycle (except the period) to know the baseline of your LH progression. If you have tested for 2 or more cycles and identified your LH peak and know your cycle pattern, then you can begin testing 5 days prior to the predicted ovulation day. The ideal time to take tests is 10am-8pm. Here is a blog for your reference: premom.com/how-to-use-ovulation-tests/

@premomfertility
@premomfertility 10 ай бұрын
Usually, ovulation happens within 24-36 hours after an LH peak is reached, yet you can ovulate earlier than this time window as human body is not a textbook. In fact, in a single menstrual cycle, LH can surge more than once, but only one true surge leads to egg release. Seeing low-high/peak/low LH results fits the typical profile of ovulation quite well. But without seeing your tests, it would be hard to share more details. And not everyone experiences the fertile cervical mucus--- slippery and stretchy cervical fluid resembling raw egg whites. Hope this helps!

I feel like this is probably a stupid question but I'm going to ask anyway. I'd really appreciate an answer clarifying this 🙃 I've been testing like normal however yesterday I actually read the instructions. I have the easy@home ovulation test strip kit. When I read the instructions yesterday, it made it sound like you're supposed to input your test results into both the easy@home section (qualitative) and then the Premom section (quantitative) in the app. This was confusing to me but I rolled with it. Now I have 2 different results on each section of the app. It says I peaked yesterday in the Premom side but not on the easy at home section. Any explanation here? 😬

Hi Alyssa, It's normal to see your LH level have ups and downs throughout the day as LH constantly fluctuates in cycles. And please know the dye on these test strips will continue to activate after 10 minutes and the lines may turn darker which might lead to different readings. It's important to note that these numbers can vary, and what is considered a "peak" for one person may be different for another. Typically, the Premom app will mark high/peak if the T/C ratio is equal to or larger than 0.8 because most fertile women experience their LH peak around 0.8 and above. However, it is definitely possible to peak below 0.8 and still ovulate.🥰

If donor sperm lasts 24 hours and I inseminate at a time that leaves only a few of those 24 hours left by the time ovulation occurs, will it matter that the sperm has only ~7 hours left? @premomfertility
@premomfertility 10 ай бұрын
Given that testing with more dilute urine might result in a false negative, we generally recommend holding liquid intake for about 2 hours before testing. But, this doesn't mean you absolutely must hold your urine for exactly 2 or 4 hours every time. The key is to test with urine that's not overly diluted to get an accurate result.

As we mentioned in the video, the ideal time to collect a urine sample is within 10am-8pm as LH surge usually starts in the early morning and may not be apparent until noon. If you can consistently get reliable results by testing earlier before 10am, feel free to stick to your routine, but it is best to test again in the early evening so you won't miss any significant change in your hormone within a day.

Sometimes, things just happen beyond our control. Sending you lots of support during this tough time. Hang in there!

How important is it to test after your fertile window? I had my peak on Thursday and I forgot to test on Friday and yesterday we were out at a friends house all day. I’m planning to test today but want to make sure I didn’t mess anything up by not testing those two days

It's just to make sure your LH goes back down after a peak, missing 2 days should be OK if you saw your peak and it was already going back down.

what is best time to test ovulation
@premomfertility
@premomfertility 3 жыл бұрын
That's a great question Halima. We recommend starting to test with ovulation tests the day after your period ends. Keep testing once every day between the hours of 10am-8pm at the same time every day while limiting your liquid intake at least 2 hours before testing. You will see your luteinizing hormone (triggers release of an egg) go from low to high to peak meaning that you are 24 hours from your peak test result from ovulation day. To learn more about ovulation testing I would recommend reading this blog - premom.com/blogs/how-to-use-ovulation-tests/how-to-use-ovulation-tests

I recently stopped taking birth control, and started ovulation testing after my period ended. My app is telling me I’m in my fertile window, but it’s still saying my lh level is low. I am going to keep testing, but will the app correct this and tell me when my actual fertile window is active?
@premomfertility
@premomfertility 3 жыл бұрын
The app is just making a prediction but you should follow your ovulation tests and continue to upload them into the app. Premom will change its predictions/fertile window when you reach your LH peak. The more data you input to the app the smarter the predictions will be.

Yes, if you upload a picture from the photo gallery on your phone, it will automatically timestamp it to the original time the photo was taken. Otherwise, you can edit the time and date just by tapping where the time/date is listed to the left of the test photo in the test gallery.

I have started testing for ovulation and my high an peak have been changing every other day. Today it said high at 0.8 which didn’t seem right to me. 25th was 1 and 1.06 then on the 26th it dropped to 0.48 an this morning was 0.19 an now late evening it’s 0.8 but it says High next to it. Sorry just really confusing x
@premomfertility
@premomfertility 3 жыл бұрын
Changing ratios are normal. To get the most consistent results to be sure to limit any liquid intake to at least two hours before testing and be sure you are using the proper lighting and white background when taking the picture of your test strips. The app will begin looking for 'high' and 'peak' results above .8 and if the app recognizes a peak but you upload a higher test strip the next day then the app will adjust its readings. The app needs to get to know your cycle levels first in order to get the most accurate predictioins. If you ever have questions on when you ovulate or if you are timing intercourse properly I would use our 'Ask An Expert' feature in the Premom app! You can share your test line progression with them and they will be able to provide you with the next steps and suggestions.

Whens the best time i can start testing and know when i should have intercourse so i can have a successful pregnancy? the miscarriage i had the nurses said oh imnsorry it looks like baby stopped growing at 9weeks at mu 11 week scan and there seems to be fuid around the baby. I can still try again for a baby right? but i cant understand this ovulation stuff properly. does 2 dark lines means thats when i should try for a baby again? ive had children before and never needed to rely on anything. The nurse when i asked what caused the miscarriage? she just said sometimes babies just dont form properly, its nothing you did. Please help.

I'm sorry to hear about your experience. It's understandable to have questions about trying again after a miscarriage. Generally, doctors recommend waiting for a couple of menstrual cycles before trying again. As for ovulation, the two dark lines on an ovulation test typically indicate your peak fertile window, which is a good time for intercourse. Remember, it's okay to reach out to your healthcare provider for personalized advice and support. Take care!

Can ovulation be happen before LH peak....
@premomfertility
@premomfertility Жыл бұрын
Yes, it may happen that ovulation occurs before the LH peak, but it is quite less common. Typically, LH surge occurs about 24 to 36 hours before ovulation. However, in some cases, ovulation can occur before the LH surge. This may happen if the surge is shorter or weaker than usual, or if there is a rapid drop in LH levels after the surge. It's also worth noting that LH testing can sometimes miss the surge or detect it later than it actually occurred, which can make it difficult to predict ovulation accurately. Other methods, such as monitoring basal body temperature or cervical mucus changes, may provide additional clues to help determine the timing of ovulation. Leyla Premom Support Team

If you have been tracking for a couple months and or just want to get a second opinion I recommend scheduling a virtual consultation in the Premom app with a Premom Provider. They will be able to assist you in looking at your tracking and charts and formulate a plan of action for your next steps.

Does a positive test mean you ovulated or about to ovulate?
@premomfertility
@premomfertility Жыл бұрын
Hello Keyonna, great question! When you see a positive result on an ovulation test strip, it means you're likely to ovulate in the next day or so. This is when you're most fertile and have the highest chance of getting pregnant if you have sex.

Hi doctor , good to know many things from your video.👍👍 Please help me to know : Suppose if i test at 11 am and its show peak result + 2 dark lines , it means after 24 hours ovulation time starts ?? Second question : why in a day 2 times test needed to perform ? If yes what best time in a day to do if first done at 11 am in morning. Third question suppose in morning it shows peak time But in evening test it does not shows peak time what does it mean ?? I will not get ovulated in 24 hours ? 4th question :- peak result means ovulation time ? Or it means ovulation after 24 hours ? Last question is this possible today i get peak result next day it doesnot show peak result it means ovulation time not in 24 hours ?? And doc please help me to know how i can keep my vagina alkaline. Waiting for your answers Thankyou so much

Hello, If your ovulation test is positive at 11 AM with two dark lines, it indicates an LH surge, and ovulation might happen within 24-36 hours. To increase accuracy, test twice daily; morning and evening. Ovulation predictions can vary due to hormones and other factors. Consult a healthcare professional for specific concerns.

It's normal that LH to fluctuate during the day. To get the best reading of LH tests, I suggest you switch to the other time to test LH in the afternoon or evening, as that is when the luteinizing hormone (LH) levels tend to be the highest. Good question! Usually, you are going to ovulate within 24-36 hours after LH peak. Be sure to continue testing after finding your peak as there is always the potential for your levels to continue to rise. The most fertile window would be the day before peak, peak day and day after peak (ovulation day in the app). Baby dust to you!

If the girl did Protected sex during ovulation period will the girl get pregnent?
@premomfertility

She would have to have protected sex the entire fertile window (6 days) but there is always a failure rate with some forms of birth control, especially if not used properly. If used properly, it's more unlikely for a pregnancy to happen.
