I've been very interested in offering him a role in a very large theatre production we're not too far from putting expressions of interests out for.... Except to be perfectly honest, I'm not convinced it's not four identical quintuplets yet. If Owen is one kid, i will be fucking stunned. All i can say right now, he's being noticed by some people who work with the best professional musicians in the world and everyone who sees his work for the first time is absolutely gobsmacked. What he's doing shouldn't be possible, but there's some kids out there doing truly superhuman things in the world of performance arts and there's a quiet group of well connected and very well resourced adults who are determined to gather them and give them a production tailored to show the world why these kids aren't just "talented" they're extraordinary, they're special... And as such they'll get special treatment and privileged access to wildly disproportionate resources to perform with. Because, and I say again, these kids are special. And Owen is one of the very best of the best we've come across so far. I pray he answers the call when the time comes and he comes to Australia to make history and perform progressive music in all its majesty. Make no mistake, he's mastered the most sophisticated music of all time and kids like him are going to be the thought leaders in a new renaissance of high level performance arts. You can take that statement to the bank. If you can play this, you can do anything. Progressive metal is the cutting edge and Dream Theater have produced music that will be remembered as a pivotal movement in the rediscovery of virtuosity and pushing the limits of what's thought possible using human hands and the best tech available. In case you can't tell, these kids have some very serious people very excited indeed and none more excited than this person right here. In a world of tiktok and Instagram influencers, there's a whole lot of people who are craving young people worthy of being on a pedestal. That's what we're going to give them.

I full-on agree. There may be no accounting for taste, though HOW... without having a pre-approved Darwin Award app in your life ... does one find this artfully inspired and superbly executed performance across the spectrum of instruments to be anything but inspired and thoroughly enjoyable? 347 people who don’t like the song? 347 people who can’t recognize value in a Polymath musicianship.who is 15, or are jealous? I as well would like to meet each of the 347 to see how many of those simply don’t like good music versus how many are in some way in possession of some valid point I am currently too shallow to fathom. I would love to be enlightened 347 more times as everyone is different like everyone else.

Wow that's probably easily the best DT cover song video I've ever seen on KZbin. I'll elaborate on why I think so, not only the fact that you're playing all the instruments proficiently. Before I clicked on the video to watch I was thinking about how every guy I see on here playing a Petrucci solo attempts playing it exactly identical as him, note for note and every other nuance backed up with the studio track. I was wondering what you were going to do, and was so happy to see you actually did a legit cover. I could hear your own personal style and sound embellishments during whole song, which is not particularly easy to do with these guys meticulously written music. Sorry for the long winded explanation, but I feel a truly great cover is only achieved when you play it while making it your own. These other guys just sound like a guitar hero play along, that's why this is truly great!

Drums , Guitar, Bass , Keys. I'm tipping that's the order you learnt these instruments. Best youtube-cover non native bass playing I've seen.

Thanks! actually drums was the most recent instrument I started learning, and piano was my first instrument.

@@OwenDavey Super surprising. Even re watching with that knowledge. To the untrained eye ( I'm not a drummer ) Your drumming looks the most relaxed and natural of the disciplines.

This was immense, can’t believe I have never seen him on KZbin before. How can someone learn all 4 instruments to dream theatre standard? True dedication !!! Onwards and upwards :)

I'm just absolutely stunned by this guy's skill. The sheer amount of effort which must have gone into this, over so much time--and he's just getting started! I literally cannot even. "And you, young Davey, we will watch your career with great interest!"

Holly smokes! At first I was like damn, this kid prolly did grade 8 piano growing up but liked the drums more. Then @9:54 I realised he's pretty much mastered guitar and bass too. Awesome job Owen.
