I have an OG Batch 1 Patton with over 4000 miles that I love dearly and have had zero issues with other than one flat tire. I upgraded the springs to progressive 70lb to fix my main gripe which was the bottoming out issue and now that the Patton-S has progressive suspension I will likely swap the springs again to get the 66lb progressive suspension I have always wanted when they become available. Its great they refined the wheel however I would have liked to have seen a bit more power and range even if it meant keeping the weight they trimmed off and honestly 90mm of suspension travel. For now I'll stick with my OG Patton. Nothing has come out or is coming out that justifies an upgrade unless they make the "Lynx-S" so to speak.

Why not upgrade to the current Lynx?
@EclecticWizard64 күн бұрын
@@dustinhankins2153 Not worth the money to upgrade unless I found a good deal on a used one. Happy with what I have for probably another year or so in which time there will be new wheels to consider.
@OWGAC4 күн бұрын
the ride feel for the lynx is really different from the Patton, less agile but a good bit more stability at speed. But no, if you have the original this isn't enough of a change to worth an upgrade

I want to know if the Patton S suffers from the same problem as the Sherman L: weight distribution and gyroscopic forces. The size and shape of the L, the pedal height, and motor weight, all lead to it being too easy to lean over at speed. At 20 mph, I have to steer it like I'm only doing 3 mph. There's no body leaning unless going at higher speeds. There are no gyroscopic forces keeping it upright that you have to fight against. If you even think about leaning, it falls over. And since the Lynx has wobble issues, I'm guessing it suffers from the same thing, and I wonder of the new tech in the Patton continues that. It boggles my mind that I haven't heard anyone address that. It's a safety issue since weight distribution and gyroscopic force creates stability.
@ed_boogie4 күн бұрын
I have the Sherman L and I have no idea what you’re talking about lol. If you have the kenda knobby tire it will quickly drop on its edge left and right. My Sherman S had the same tire and to mitigate this I’d drop my psi to 28 or below. I’m not sure if that is what you speak of, but I don’t have that issue you describe. I’ve ridden plenty of wheels and the L is the best.

The issue i take with subtle changes and again an S is it doesn't warrant another $3-4k investment just for softer lines and a bit better performance. It just goes to show customers the flaws the original has and yet they rushed it market anyway

Does it still cut out and/or beep on hard braking with a fully charged battery? If yes, the wheel is still garbage imo Also, please, I beg of you, PLEASE use motorcycle sizing (Patton - 12", Lynx - 14", Falcon - 10", Master Pro - 17", V13 - 16"), old bicycle sizes are literatelly useless with modern wheels
@darkstar44944 күн бұрын
That one little flaw makes the whole wheel garbage?
@OWGAC4 күн бұрын
EUC braking all regen and with a full battery they all run similar risk. But if you are aware and know not to go nuts in that first 5 min from a full charge then this isn't really a problem.
@voltangle2 күн бұрын
@@OWGAC I've only seen Pattons and Abramses falling on braking. And by braking i mean just going fast and then doing a really hard stop. Patton will not survive it, or at least will cut out. Any other wheel does not have that issue, I bought an ET Max for myself, and it doesn't cut out if I brake, never

@@darkstar4494 Yes, it makes it unsafe.
@darkstar44942 күн бұрын
@ every wheel has features that make it unsafe under certain conditions. Lack of suspension is unsafe. Inner tubes are unsafe. Lack of redundancy in hall sensors is unsafe. The point is that calling the whole thing garbage makes you sound like you’re 12 years old. No offense intended, take it or leave it.
