Check and see if those laws are actually enforced; last I checked in the US anything that doesn’t have a steering handle falls within the “assisted mobility device” category which is govern by the American Disability Act, so technically I don’t believe they can ban an EUC.

I'm definitely interested in these but I think I'm going to wait a few more years. Things seems to be developing really rapidly and in a couple years I'll either get much more wheel for my money buying new, or current wheels like the sherman will be much cheaper on the used market. I'm really curious if laws will catch up with these things anytime soon. At 40mph, these high end wheels are basically replacing vespa-style scooters. They're much closer to a licensed vehicle than something like a boosted board or onewheel. It's only a matter of time before authorities need the feel to do something about it, and we either see them start enforcing them as not street legal, or we get some kind of registration. I think the best case scenario is a moped-like registration, where you pay a 1 time fee.

I agree. London doesn’t even have sensible escooter rules yet.
@OWGAC4 жыл бұрын
We're probably a long way off from regulation; laws are still trying to catch up to escooter share and even though they aren't as fast as EUCs the people whom ride those scooters are also less prepared and I hear about a lot more injuries associated with those services.

I’m thinking about getting an Inmotion V11 as my first wheel but I was wondering if you had any tips or I should get a different wheel first. I am not new to personal electric vehicles but I have never ridden an EUC. @OWGAC4 жыл бұрын
It wouldn’t be a waste if you start with something small and light like let say a V8, preferably used. Problem with starting on a new wheel is that you’ll drop it as part of the learning process and you’ll be sad to be scratching up/ damaging a brand new and expensive wheel! But there’re also no reason why you can’t start learning on the v11, the pedals are quite tall so it’ll be a bit harder to get on in the beginning but its def. possible.

Short of speed its closer to a moto riding exp than most other wheel I have ridden because of the gyro feel.

A note for anyone new. I consider myself too have a very good scence of balance believing this is true probably helps more than actually being true... I spent the first hour on my S18 not even able to go forward and it was hard my brain just wanted to balance and I could not will myself too go forward, but I knew given time it will become natural. The second d hour of practising none stop I started moving forward and felt great by this point I was nakurd and had taken a lot of effort but wanted too keep pushing, mentally I felt .ore comfortable riding on the grass I'm geusing this was because I knew I would have softer landing (i had full protective gear on). I think I only fell off the EUC twice during this and both times was not troublesome, I did however had many unwanted discounts (basically loosing balance and jumping off) as I approached the second d hour I was able to ride up and down the park. I was not able too navigate the EUC very well but manage too keep a good straight-line that someone 10 times over the limit would be proud off. After those initial two hours I'm now in week 2 off on off riding (day two it felt like I ran a marathon and could not go back on it when you start out you use a lot of strength and energy wile you learn too keep balance) I now find myself in a place where I forget how hard it was too learn until a friend of mine attempts to ride the EUC for the first time. But I must say without having the confidence too know that I will be able too ride it I would not be at the point I am now. It is tough but you need to believe that you will get there. It would have been easy for me too give up and if you saw me o. That first hour you would never have believed I would ever be able to ride it. I'm still practising but now able to turn at will and come to a stop and dismount then re mount again. I still have a lot going way too go but ever time I get on the wheel it feels amazing, its also worth noting that I am amazed how quickly I get from point A to B on this thing my perception feels as if I'm am going very slow (wear protection just me you will look so cool on the wheel anyway regardless of what you are wearing be safe.)

I hated the Segway. But I can get behind these! Makes riding a unicycle seem unnecessary! PS I do feel compelled to say, "CHEATERS!" Try EARNING those rides by learning proper unicycle first. Totally unfair!!!

LOL, I never ridden an manual unicycle before but Da told me its a crazy workout!

The highest speed listed that I e seen is 45 mph and it is not recommended to ride at top speed.
@OWGAC4 жыл бұрын
Manufacturer typically don’t list top speed since it depends on a slew of factors like battery percentage and rider size and weight. A veteran Sherman has been proven to be able to hit 50mph with a regular sized (round 200lbs) rider

Not sure if you're being cocky but that headgear you got looks like a disaster waiting to happen.

I talked about why I wear that helmet on a few occasion, but the short of it is that being able to easily look behind my shoulder to make sure that a car isn’t about to run me over is super important in NYC. This may not make sense when it comes to how you ride in your area but for me the blind spots created by a full face helmet didn’t work for me.

Another draw back is foot pain. I've been riding for 3 years now, and I still get pain in my feet from this sport.
@OWGAC3 жыл бұрын
Getting pads actually helped, since I am spreading out some weight between the pads and the foot pedal. may be try that if you haven't?
@rayrous82293 жыл бұрын
I certainly have them. They do help.

Thanks so much for the video Hsiang!! Super informative as usual!! If anyone is interested, i have also made a video with 10 things to know before you buy an electric unicycle! I'm not as wise or engaging as Hsiang, but I would love if you checked it out! Keep making sweet content man!!
