They run their factories very well too. There is a very small gap between the salary of the top level managers, and the cleaners and sweepers, for example. Workers get a two hour lunch break, time enough to go home and eat with their family and then come back to work refreshed and happy. Every worker has a vote ... and ANY change proposed by any member of staff, is put to the vote, and as such even the part time canteen servers vote has as much weight as the operations managers. Running a business like that, is probably why the quality of their goods is so high. The workers are happy and unified.

I still have their sepia set I got in high school back in 2005, the brush marker lasted me quite a while but it is definitely dead now, the fineliners I can still get some pretty fun sketchy lines out of. Love their sets of sepia, sanguine and greys, I find them to be really useful for life drawing and any time you want to do a quick sketch with a variety of line weights.

Great review Marty! Your last review is when I bought mine and just like you say, they still work great. I love using these on the gray toned Stillman and Birn sketchbooks. They come out vibrant and because they are water based they don't do much bleeding through if at all. Thanks for the video Marty, happy New Year!

Yes! I purchased some after the old video. They still look and works like new. I had a hard time with them in the beginning, but once I used them on tan toned paper. I could use them in tight spaces with my children, not fearing they will inhale the strong alcohol fumes. They don’t bleed, they are great.

Nice demo Marti. I was contemplating these a few years back. However, ended up going with their watercolor markers, and have recently started using alcohol markers as well. Great explanation on the Pitts though. Very helpful in choosing what to look for in this line! Thanks again Marti!

@@owingsart thank you for responding. The batch I find them streaky and I am sure what type of paper to use with them
@DieterPrivate2 жыл бұрын
@@MadebyDawn23 they do work differently than alcohol based markers, so if used like that, they will be streaky, especially on paper that sucks up ink. Use a smooth paper like Bristol or marker paper, and layer them. You can then even blend with a smudging technique. Don't worry on getting too dark this way. Like seen in the video, you can always use the white pen to lighten colour, which will lighten more with each applied layer. I love these pens.

I love my Pitt pen range, and have collected a small range of them. There’s just a few colors that don’t have just yet. I’ve also found these to be Copic proof once completely dry. There’s just so many uses for the pens and my mom even got me a small set that had one of their nice cases which I still keep the pens in a couple years later. It’s really an underrated tool out there that I’m glad is getting a bit more attention these days.

A bought the wooden case with all the Pitt markers a few years ago. It was on sale and I wanted to try india ink instead of alcohol ink I always use. I resold them after 6 months. I hated them. Mayby I was using the wrong type of paper. Mayby it was because I was used to Copics and I tried to much using them as Copics but I just couldn't get the hold of it. The result was allways streaky and blending was very hard. The tip of the brushmarkers is still very hard compared to Copic sketch and I found it very hard to use them in combination with my polychromos (but mayby that's my fault and you can't use a waterbased ink in combination with an oilbased pencil???? I don't know). And personaly I think its a pitty that you can't refill them (although I read that you can use the Pitts for years before it runs out of ink). I'm still thinking I was using them incorrectly. The guy who I sold them to was thrilled with them. But I stick to my Copics + polychromos.

You highlighted a lot of great points here. I’m not sure how you were using them, but maybe it was the markers performing poorly for you. Sorry to hear it.

I do a lot of coloring books, so I need to know how much they bleed? Either sideways or through the page? Can you help? Also, how long do the points last?
@w.vangaal10772 жыл бұрын
I use fineliners and these markers all the time in coloring books and they are my favorite! Because they don't bleed.. I haven't found a book that they do.. even in books where I didn't expect it they didn't bleed at most a shadow on the other side. If you have them try them and you will surprised.
@owingsartАй бұрын
Sorry I missed your question. Bleeding depends a lot more on the paper than the marker in most cases. Use better paper for less spidering and bleed. Points depend on how hard you are on your markers. With normal use they’ll last quite a long time.

I was sent 2 from FC and within one year they dried or were incredibly weak. I was never contacted again about the product. For what I paid for them it wasn’t right. So I never bought another marker set.
