Great information and clear presentation. Loved the pauses at the end so we could answer the figure ourselves! The repetition helped me Thank you!

Love you video. One question - do you allow for 1/2" or 1/4" seam allowance?? I can get mine to come out the same as yours.

Do you have any patterns to make masks???
@lucindacindymartin60124 жыл бұрын
it would be great to have a pattern with no elastic, and fits well onto nose/tight seal.

Qué lindo bolsito! Pero al no entender mucho inglés, se me hizo un poco complicado la toma de medidas, espero tu próximo tutorial, quizàs lo entienda más, muchas gracias Gina! 😊 👍 👌 💖 😙

Math is a bit off. When you calculated the single piece of fabric, you added 1" for seam allowance. As there are only 2 SA's, then you are using .5" for each seam. However, when you calculated the split design, you added .5" for each seam allowance, which means you used .25" seam allowance. For those having math problems: you can create a spreadsheet and enter the formulas and then you have only to change the dimensions and the calculations will be done for you. Start with your finished dimensions. I'm using the ones from the video for this example. Fin Height (FinHt): 5" (meaning from top to bottom) Fin Width (FinWd): 9" (meaning the width of the bag as you are looking at it) Fin Depth (FinDp): 3" (meaning the dimension from front to back on the top and bottom) SA: .25" (the seam allowance) To cut a single piece of fabric: Width = FinWid + FinHt + (2*SA) = 14.5" Height = 2 * (FinHt + FinDp + SA) = 16.5" To split the bag in the middle and use 2 pieces of fabric: Middle/Bottom of bag fabric (width from above), Height: FinHt/2 + FinDp/2 + (2*SA) = 8.5" Bag top, cut 2 (width from above), Height: FinHt + FinDp + (4*SA) = 5" Of course, all of that assumes I understood her bag assembly correctly. I entered those formulas in a LibreOffice Spreadsheet (tinyurl.com/LibreOfficeSheet) and then also saved it as an Excel spreadsheet (tinyurl.com/MSExcelSheet). Feel free to grab these files from my cloud account. (Note: I make no guarantees about the Excel version since it's a conversion from LibreOffice.)

@J.G. Can you create a formula that tells you the largest bag you can make from a certain size piece of fabric please?

Wish these links still worked. M having a blockage to get a bag done. It’s tall 13”. And 14” long and only 3” deep. I’m about ready to explode, as when I think I’ve got the bag figured out it’s not. 😢

I love your work, but the calculation is complicated. For me best is how big one pice must be and how big the other one should be. But if it helps others good . I just don’t know how you made that bag. So if there is a territorial on that I would like to follow. And you explain very well. And wow you get the nicest fabrics ..... I wish I could get some of them. Anyway, I just love the way you explain. 🌹❤️🌹❤️🌹❤️

I don't think this would have been as confusing if the video wasn't upside down. No shade. Ijs. The numbers were hard to follow.
