I just watched 3 minutes and 35 seconds of Adam Young walking around... And did I regret it? Nope! I love this man, everything about this man. There is nothing about Adam Young I don't like. His struggles, they make him even more beautiful. I'm sure if we dug down far enough we could find some bad and troubling things in his past... but, you can find that in everyone. What makes Adam Young so unique from popularized music is that he has his head up, lifted high, in hopes of being a better person in the end. This man is a fantastic influence. When I see him express his joy and struggles in his music while he holds on tight to God, I. Absolutely. Love. It. My heart skips a beat. Praise God for such a fantastic, talented, loving, brave and funny man. Those who hate him, you're wasting your time. He can't hear you. He's focused on God, and that's not necessarily a bad thing. Perhaps you can learn a thing or two from Adam Young- even if you are blindsided by his faith.

I said this in the comments to reply to someone but I think the person deleted it. To those who say "I don't like being preached at", it's true as others have said-it's your choice to listen to this song again or not. Look, everyone's preaching something, it's just what they're preaching. Many other singers preach violence, getting drunk, profanity, casual sex and drugs. Then there are a few singers, like Adam Young/Owl City. He preaches joy, being a dreamer, healing, forgiveness, and awe. I really respect him for that. Don't know about you, but I sure know whose preaching I want to listen to.

As a Christian myself, I do say that many(not all) Christian songs are different, because they are often all have similar characteristics like being slower. (Again not all songs, especially by people like this guy) Now for some this may be fine, if they like songs like this, but for others like me, I find it difficult to find a good playlist because I like the real upbeat songs, heavy electronic music, heavy bass, a distinct singer, and more. This is just my opinion :)

When I first came and listened to this song 2 years ago, I had been calling myself an atheist, hadn't been to Church in like, 8 years, all that. Now, because of some of the music I've been listening to recently (this song, and a few by Clamavi de Profundis) I've been feeling pulled back in by the Catholic faith I was raised in, and I've been trying hard to reconnect with God. It's been hard bc I can't seem to banish the doubts in my mind, saying "this isn't real, you've been just fine without religion for half your life, why go back now?" but I've been slowly getting back into everything, and I've been talking with the pastor at the church near my college about attending Mass again, so I'm optimistic :) I just want to say, thank you Adam for making this music, it helps more than you could ever imagine

The thing is, is that I don't believe for a second that God created this world, no, that's down to the miracles of Physics. That being said, I generally do believe that there is a tranquil entity, such as God that didn't create us but still cares for us. Actually, I went to a Catholic school for 7 years, visiting church frequently and praying 5 days a week. Still an atheist. Everyone has something which makes them feel more complete and understanding of the world. For some it's God. For others, it's Allah, Buddhism, some form of polytheism, science, etc. I'm sorry if this comes off rude, but I can't find a politer way to phrase it: Just because we don't feel the same way you feel about your sky god, doesn't mean we are wrong. You are. Everyone has something which makes them feel the most comfortable and understanding of the world. Praying in church made me feel stupid. Relying on science for ALL my questions of the world didn't. It doesn't mean I'm wrong or dumb. Doesn't mean your wrong or dumb. We aren't missing out on anything. We are doing what makes us happy. Atheism makes me happy, God makes you happy. Nothing wrong with either of those things as long as nobody gets hurt or feels pressured to change who they are.

When I listened to it I loved it; I realized that it had no bad language, no disgusting undertones. It wasn't necessarily Christian, but it wasn't anti-Christian, either, like so many songs are today. I loved all his songs, but when I realized that he had started making Christian music, I was even more amazed. I had never expected someone like him to be a Christian, but I'm thankful that he is. Think of how many people he must've helped to Christianity. What people look for is a catchy tune, and that's exactly what he brings, but there's so much more to his music. Not only catchy music, but also amazing lyrics!
