I feel so lucky to have the Haunted Manor deck. I watched your unboxing when it first came out and I immediately went to Sirian Shadow’s Etsy shop and purchased it. It’s such a great deck and I work with it all year long. I also purchased his Gothic Literature tarot and was a little Leary at first but as I’ve worked with it it has a lot to say and I’m really connecting with it. Thank you for sharing this video I really enjoyed it as I do with all your videos.

If anyone wants tarot of vampyres - amazon is still selling the Spanish edition!! It is a larger cardstock that's less glossy than the newer Llewellyn version.

I think Llewellyn is going to release a new U.S./English version in December 2024/January 2025 which looks exactly like the Spanish version, but standard Llewellyn card size.

Between seeing an OOP copy online recently and watching a couple of owl moon’s deck lists where she talks about it, I’ve been considering whether this is a deck I should try to get a copy of right now while it’s only recently out of print. I do think the artwork for some of the cards is beautiful (like the Three of Wands, or the Four of Swords), but think the overall gothy/ macabre tone of the deck may dominate too much my ability to perceive different qualities in different cards, which may not work for me personally. Lisa Papez did a video on the deck, including an overview of a lot of the content of the guidebook, and it does seem like the book is a good primer on a lot of things- has a very well-written passage on shadow work, as well as listing the astrological and kabbalistic associations for the cards. Apparently, Fool’s Dog has a $4 app for the deck, that includes most of the content of the book on it as well as offering autogenerated readings with it- which I’m currently using to explore whether I’m interested in the deck. At the moment, there are two $55-ish copies of the guidebook if you do really want a physical copy of it, one on Ebay and one on Mercari- and either way, if you’re okay with getting the Spanish copy of the deck, you should still be able to work with it along with the English e- version of the guidebook.

There’s also a $4 phone app from Fool’s Dog, which includes what looks like the full text of the book, as well as a detailed analysis of each card if you pull it up in an automated reading- so if you buy the Spanish version of the deck, it may be a little more work referring to an English interpretation, but you still have access to it.

The only thing I can think is that they must have done this to rerelease it with maybe no borders or matte cardstock. Cause Tarot of Vampyres is incredibly profound as we all know lol. Just that guidebook is so incredible! Anyway this is my theory cause to discontinue this deck is such a weird choice.

I am so upset for Kara because she put so much into creating her decks and it's extremely disheartening that others are pirating/profiting off of her creations. I love her cthonia edition so much and it always pains me when deck creators (and their artists if they had one) have this happen to them. It sucks for those who want to purchase a deck down the line from the creators as well. I will never condone the selling or buying of pirated decks. There's so many wonderful affordable and can be purchased legitimately, I know indie decks can be out of people's budget but again, you have shown and work with many mass market incredible decks, there's just never an excuse for this shit. Mini rant done.

What a yummy list! Love the long videos. But I have to object a little lol I would've totally put Ludy Lescot as a powerhouse deck! She's really kicked my butt in the best of ways a couple of times ;) I think the bootleg decks problem is so awful. :( I've seen so many people accidently buy bootleg decks and it makes me happy I almost never buy new decks these days. Would feel horrible if I got a fake deck by accident. And I'm just so sad for decks creators having to see their artwork and creation stolen...
