In that situation why not disconnect the battery and take it with you. I know batteries are like 20 lbs, and weak people would have to cart it. But what are the chances that a car thief is carrying an extra battery just in case? Answer is, they're not. If your driving around in a 100k+ car and have to park it at a SAMs Club for some retarded reason... take the fucking battery with you. Fuck, you could even take a wheel off and put a spare without a tire, they wont get far. Detachable steering wheel... lock the emergency brake... so many things you could do, not necessarily prevent in every case, but make it harder. Thieves rely on time... the longer it takes, the more likely they will give up. This guy probably doesn't even lock the front door to his house... AND YES, If I had to park a 100k+ car in a SAMs parking lot, in a trailer or not, I'll take the battery with me, and a couple fuses... just in case.

IF this guy thinks his Chevelle is "valued" at $300k, he must be figuring his labor was $200/hr. Something is only "worth" what someone is willing to pay for it. In this case the car might be "worth" $100k, tops

A mint condition chevelle with under 15k miles all stock and original would still only be worth 80k tops.

Maybe he had it insured for $300k. An LS swapped, customized '70 Chevelle might cost $100k to build if you can't do any of the work yourself. But at the end of the day a car like that is worth $50-60k at best. Of course if Grundy agrees on the value and then it gets "Stolen", the guy gets a check for $300k!!!

It said in the video that insurance would only cover $100k so that really says it all. I don't know where the 300k number came from. Seems like the news hyped it up.

@@Globbs I think you may be right. But it's not like the news would ever hype anything up would they ? LOL!

$300,000 and you dont park it where you can see it in your hotel parking lot? hmmm seems kinda sketchy tbh, wouldn't be surprised if this was an insurance scam to get $300k from insurance or even 1/3 of that is still $100k seems like a good jig

The guys gonna get 100k from insurance if they go off of that dumb ass value they spewed out. He's the real scammer if that happens.

300,000.00 invested and 300,000.00 actual value is not the same thing.

I'm gonna need to see an appraisal sheet. The car isn't worth what you put into it or sentimental value it's worth what some tightwad in a Tweed jacket and clipboard says it is.

anyone who thinks a chevelle is worth 300k no matter what the owner did to it is absolutely out of his or her fucking mind......next statement, who in their right mind parks a 300k car in a public parking lot and leaves it for hours.....someone who wants it stolen, stupid fucking people deserve stupid fucking surprises

To the car and me and my friend jumped him and pinned him to the ground we mannaged to get him to confess and he was arrested and sent to jail and i got my car back with only some minor dammage not hard to fix.
