thanks for the thoughts, I was about to buy one...question if you had to buy a new burner would you buy another Heta ?
@gardenerscottageblakeney13169 ай бұрын
I'm just sat in front of it now as I answer your question and its heating up the lounge wonderfully. Answer is yes as its the only one our local company supplies that would fit our fireplace. If i was buying it again we'd go for one that was just a log burner as the riddle on the multi-fuel gets blocked very easily, and is hard work to clean We never burn anything except logs.

@@gardenerscottageblakeney1316 Very interesting and useful video, thank you. I have been looking with real interest at the HETA models Inspire 45 and 5, the benefit of the 5 is the true wood burner design without grate which resolves so many of the issues you highlight here but unfortunately the additional height of that model also makes it just too tall for us, with an installation that is very similar to yours, dimensionally.

What model of stove did you go for in the end

I’m new to all this and don’t even have one , but if you’re burning wood, my understanding is about that I thing that Twizell round to get rid of Ash is you don’t need to use it

Many thanks for your review. I'm considering getting a Heta 45 inspire. Can you tell me the size of your of your fire place. My dimensions are width 79cm height 87cm, and I'm worried the heta stove is too large. Many thanks for your time.

Let me check . We took advice as our fireplace is quite small to . The stove company came out and did a survey and told us which stove we could have

Thank you we are glad you found it helpful Steve. It's a great little log burner, the more we own it the more we have come to appreciate it. Only negatives are the small ash pan, the riddle block easily and the small fire box , but if you are limited on the size of the opening as we were, it gives out masses of heat and easy to keep going once you've lit it as the logs last ages in it.

Hi wonderful review! Wanted ask which flue and liner would you highly recommend please.
@gardenerscottageblakeney1316 Жыл бұрын
We went with the flu that the log burner manufacturer and installers recommended . We asked them to fit the most robust and long lasting one they could as it produces a lot of heat

If that is wood burning in the video you have the vents too low. At normal temps, burning wood, the glass should clean itself. Why are you closing the door onto the build-up of ash? Burning wood i expect to see flames, not a glow. This stove is the one every other is measured by, at 85% efficiency, so very surprised at the state of it. Also, you shouldn't load the stove above, or blocking, the are vents at the back. Very confused.

Sep is correct about you not using the fire correctly. Please see the review on The Tortoise KZbin site on this fire, he explains fully how it should be lit, run and it’s efficiency without getting glass dirty.

It's around 20 by 25 foot and a high ceiling in the Georgian end of the farmhouse, floor boards on pigmy walls over bare earth, single glazing sash windows > period living!

Looks like you’ve been over filling it with logs, there’s no way the ash should be all over the place like you have it and likely reason why the ash shaker doesn’t work.

@@gardenerscottageblakeney1316 Prices for better quality stoves seem to have gone up by 40-50% in the last 2-3 years pretty much across the board, both those imported to the UK and those truly UK built. I noticed this recently. The £500 stove market is still there but with very few examples that really have any merit, even at that price.

Stoves don't emit any more co2 when burning kiln dried wood. Research it
@Gius3pp3K2 жыл бұрын
The ash tray is for burning coal, as you leave the vent open. For wood, this remains closed as you don’t need any air coming from below. A wood burning stove does not require a vent or ash tray, so you would always be required to get a shovel to remove any ash whilst cleaning the stove. Good review though, thanks

This stove is multi fuel so can burn smokeless fuel like coalite or well very seasoned logs. We are in the countryside not the city. I think regulations are different in UK cities.
