In part 8 of the series, we round off by chatting to Chris about his newest (and rarest) V12 Lamborghini, the Aventador Miura Edition.

Chris Palmer has owned most, if not all of the greatest cars from the 80s, 90s and 2000s including two McLaren F1s, multiple F40s including an F40 LM, Pagani Zonda S and road legal Porsche 962 to name just a few.
He owned these cars in period when they weren't quite as priceless as they are now and used and drove them all as intended.
In this 4 part mini-series, we sit down with Chris, wind the clock back and find out what it was like to own these legendary cars and dig deep into some of his most fond memories.

@@dansav4519 You know what he means. There is only a very limited number of these cars, just money alone isn't enough to buy some of them. Especially cars such as the F40 LM, 962 and F1 GTR.

@@Matthew-ll9ke No. Not just anyone with money can get a F40 LM, 962 or a F1 GTR. We are not talking about a Ferrari 430 or a Porsche 911 run of the mill performance cars.

@@cookedit yes they can. These cars relatively regularly come up for public auction. Failing that, contact someone like Kidston or Girardo and they will find it for you. From there, all you need is the money ( and passion).

I'll never forget crossing paths with one of the 50 Aventador Miuras at Gold Coast in Chicago. I totally get where he's coming from.. you gotta see it in person.

Say anything about the Aventador but it really is one of the most influential and beautiful supercars out there and possibly the last of it's kind I mean there's nothing under 500k that has a mid-engine V12, and a single clutch gearbox, that goes like 220 mph I heard Stradman say this and I totally agree, Aventador's major problem is that it's not a limited production car, if it we're a limited production cars it would be regarded as one of the best of it's time.

My dad owned two Miuras. A second series S and a SV for 20 years. He hated driving the SV, said it was a heavy car unlike the nimble S. He says the S is so much more fun to drive and when it came time to sell he sold the SV and kept the S.

Yeah I saw the one here in NZ..very cool,but I always thought Lamborghini should of saved the Muira name for a completely new car and not based on a aventador a brand new muira abit like a how Ford redone the gt40...a missed opportunity for Lamborghini....it was $799k nzd......

Bargain. Supercars are pretty reasonably priced in NZ. At least 10-15% less than the asking prices in the UK.

Dont think so mate that 799nzd is about 410k pounds for basically an aventdor with some extra paint, a standard model is half that so it's a rip off... either way Still just abit out of my price range lol...cheers 🇳🇿

@@danielthomas8507 OK but you're referring to new prices. The second hand market is much, much more reasonable and that because there are fewer potential buyers. Check and compare used prices for ten year old Ferraris and Lambos and MacLarens.

TBH, this marketing tactic is like non-luxury car brands of the 1980s and 1990s, when they used to bring out ‘special edition’ sub models with nothing but fancy paint and interior trims
