These comments about the transmissions in these cars are so ill founded. I find it to be a superior gearbox as I own a 2015 SpecialeA and the crisp shifts you get around 9000 RPM are priceless. Downshifts equally as good, it practically replaces the need for brakes. There is a lot of fear mongering going on and that too is wrong. These transmissions shift better than any human can and they are just so responsive. Sure, when they first came out there were a few issues that seemed to cloud up the thing. Yet they were taken care of. Like anything in mechanics, failures do happen, you deal with it if it happens.

Get an AMG GTC which is 7 years newer and £40k cheaper into the bargain.

AMG should have built this entire car, not just the engine, instead of the AMG one. I know which I would prefer. The AMG one is a lot quicker on a track but to me that is totally irrelevant.

Always difficult to compare generations, as will all have their idiosyncrasies. However, it would have been good to have had all 3 cars in Rosso Red. I think that colour makes a massive difference to the looks. Useability is picking at straws, as none of these will be driven every day. If that was ever going to be the case, they would have completed 10k miles per year. That’s definitely not the case!!

The turning point was most certainly not the McLaren 12C. It was the Ferrari 458. Which, also came out before the McLaren so you’re nuts dude if you think the McLaren changed the game. As Jeremy Clarkson said, the 12C is a pair of tighty whities.

Old lambos like the countach and the diablo were not easy to drive but damn good to drive. And they had it right.. it should be satisfying to drive and the work to make it go gives you that. Its a supercar after all and it should be an experience lile No ofher

@ I meant just in age/numbers. Some people get old but don’t mature proportionally. It’s ok to have personal choices but to spread false information and facts on other brands just bcoz of their personal choices and other things is not journalism. Jeremy is a great entertainer no doubt but no sane person would take his opinions about cars seriously. Deep down he knew Porsche are masters in dynamics and handling but just bcoz of VW beetle and its connection to some people in pre WW 2 era he choose to say incorrect things about Porsche and hype up Ferrari for no reason. Even he agreed on many occasions 911 was better than equivalent Ferrari but finally he came up with trash talk like soul/character etc etc to downgrade Porsche and show Ferrari in positive light. Ferrari r great as well but when Porsche comes up with things like carerra GT, 918 and such super cars they simply cannot match to Porsches brilliance. Even 911 gt3 RS which I don’t like that much is known to out handle any Ferrari equivalent track specials like 360/430 stradale, 458 etc etc

What an epic machine. I have the best of both worlds. A very highly speced 718 Boxster Spyder in manual and a GT4RS in PDK. Which is really the only way you can get one...!

I’ve had my Scud for 10 years now and chose it over the other 2 as a better blend of old & new school. What helps with its usability is the bumpy road mode which was something M Schumacher insisted on, and is now on every model. The CS is very bumpy in Race mode by comparison. The Speciale is too polished for me. I did a 2500 mile road trip in the Scud last year and it was epic.

I will say this, The Ferrari F430 Scuderia is a beautiful machine. This is one of my favorites. I would absolutely love to own one of these. Keep up the amazing work with reviewing these older cars. I want to see much more videos like this one on other amazing cars
