I have had the 40Mhz with signal gen for about a week and I love it, I am a motor mechanic and its perfect for checking signals quickly without having to hook the car up to my Picoscope, very impressed so far thanks for the review it has confirmed what I thought.

The only item that irritates me is the fact that probe selection doesn't include 20X. It jumps from 10x to 100x. So, I have to do a bit of mental math when using 20X hantec.

thtas another good thing about it , its not grounded it will save a lot of money to beginners , and also will not go like crazy when you turn it on like old scope did , picking up all kinds of crazy EMI before you start measuring confusing beginners making them think they did something wrong before measurement even started .

A question: can I run more than one test simultaneously? For example, the function generator and the oscilloscope to test the frequency response of a circuit?

Be aware that when measuring on the mains voltage with the multimeter, the BNC-connectors on the top are connected internally to the "COM" connector, and will have live voltage when doing so. This is not a fault though, but worth mentioning for safety.

Definitely worth mentioning. Newbies often seem to have some kind of compulsion to stick their shiny new test equipment into mains outlet without awareness of the potential safety issues. Bob mentions that the USB connector shares the same ground as the BNC, so that will also be connected to the COM connector, a pretty decent chance of getting a shock if you are probing high voltages whilst holding the meter.

@@ferrumignis I think that is what is pointed out in the video. However, a significant point he does miss is the CAT 2 rating of the scope input means you are restricted to end user mains circuits and certainly not for measuring mains voltage at a distribution board or any mains voltage throughout the building. I have seen one of these meters taken apart and I have to wonder whether the flash over protection is adequate. If you are going to measure mains voltages then pay the extra and get a second hand Fluke. These Chinese meters are a lot better than they used to be and some are pretty impressive but when it comes to safety they are not there yet.

It appears I cannot turn off the Trigger function. Menu suggests left/right arrow (none), but it still triggers on the waveform. Not a major problem as such, just annoying.
