It's very common for quartz movements not to line up on the indices. It can be a little bit annoying but in no way affects accuracy. That being said, I recently picked up one of these in the 42mm size. I'm very satisfied with the watch. Case is beautiful, it's very accurate, to the tune of +2 seconds in 20 days. Bezel action is perfect and aligns perfectly as well. I really can't overstate how nice of a watch this is for the money. Oh yeah, and it's rated at 200 meters of water resistance. Just a great watch overall.

Sweet, nice looking watch! Hunted down a milsub pvd automatic diver on nato + bracelet on the cheap for under 200 bucks. Will see if it’s any good. Looking forward to sangin’s next drop too. The whole situation with watches has soured me but I’m hoping these smaller brands can scratch my itch… who knows? Thanks

Whoa, good price on the PVD auto! I’d love a Sangin, looking to find the right one at the moment. Check out Nomos, Scurfa, Marathon, and Luminox. All brands I really like that make great affordable watches.

@@soundsoserious thanks! Atlases are dropping any day from sangin, per Jacob. Been collecting since 2000 during college but haven’t really been looking much until this year.. and wow, things have changed! Great intel you have and interestingly similar brands mentioned considering those are great watches. I’ve always wanted a marathon, especially the pvd but it’s been awhile since I’ve bought anything at all. The P656 style luminox is a tank, awesome watch! Nomos has a dirty dozen esq watch that’s awesome and scurfa is a no brainer if only in an automatic imho. The only other watches that (not to sound like an asshole) I’ve owned, were not swiss made automatic, well under a certain dollar amount, and only for work,.. are suuntos.

@@soundsoserious *Started with Resco, Seaholm, Sangin, Alpina, Ruf and a random Tudor gmt as a reference. Even looked at a revue thommen chrono diver then started looking at JDM and only Japanese movements but they led me to where I’m at with $200. Even considered knock-off type watches that people are calling homage’s but their depth rating’s are suspicious… along with most everything else including origin. Modding is definitely in my future after such discovery. Laughable I know but with such a huge difference and massive selection between new watches under 2k and then up to 5k nowadays I figured what the hell and went for these parameters. 30 atm Sapphire Crystal, preferably with ar. Automatic-regulated (proven workhorse) Super luminova, tritium or gtls. 316L or PVD Dive bezel Date comp Classic milsub design/look or similar to my 16600 ** Manufacturer I don’t currently own or have owned.

You'd think for $260 , Vaer could attempt to get the second hand to hit the indices rather than in between them. That would yank my chain to no end.

This is an unfair criticism of most watches since the orientation of dial and crystal have a lot to do with that when you see pictures or video. But you make a good point. Best is Swiss Quartz for this. My Grand Seikos have been so-so tbh. This Vaer is pretty good.

@@soundsoserious I'm fairly confident in my assessment. I already considered your points the very fist thing before commenting. I replayed it in slomo just in case. A one minute vid proving me wrong would be fantastic to shut me right up. I'll even edit my opinion and give you props for it! BTW, I custom build watches, so anything off or out of alignment more than .25mm is off to me.

Had a Trimble tlime ,they cancelled my order saying it’s out of stock and they were giving me the one without a date.I told that I’m willing to wait. They can’t guarantee anything and cancelled my order.terrible.vaer sucks!

You’re welcome! Thanks for the comment. The finishing is surprisingly good. The case has no imperfections and the engraving on the back is deep and crisp. The dial is simple but very well done with a subtle sunburst effect. Maybe one notch below my Tissot PRX overall but not more than that.

You are correct, the hand is not quite perfectly lined up. Not uncommon in a quartz watch. Even expensive ones have this problem frequently.
