I had a little accident involving my hand and a blade last week. No gory photos (I promise), but if you're interested in what happened and how it got fixed, here you go...
The takeaway? Be mindful, watch your fingers and be careful with a blade.

Scars like that are badges of experience. May they always be superficial! I have a few on my hands, one from when I was a teen and did a similar cut down my left ring finger. Another altered my fingerprint when a barracuda bit the tip of my index finger and split it right down the middle. Also, Inkscape is great.

I can relate man, I ground off the tip of my middle finger while using my shaper, not fun, amazingly it grew back and was told even the finger print would the same. Oh and I 3d print all my minis at 150% larger scale, they are easier to paint.

moral of the story: this is why you should always focus when handling dangerous equipment. Had a also an accident where I just rammed a cutter into my thumb. Thankfully not that much damage but the pain was still there. Made me develop a lot of respect for the tools I use and havent had an injury since.

I had a procedure done in 2015 to have a crushed saliva gland in my lip called a mucocele removed from accidently biting my lip. But they used one of those cauterize devices to close the area so it wouldn't come back. Granted it wasn't quite the same experience you had but there's something very unnerving about the smell of your own flesh burning.

Dude. I've been burned/cauterized with cauterization tool, cigarette, soldering iron, hot glue, cattle fence, etc. You have ALL my empathy and sympathy. Wishing you nothing but the best, healing up. Looking forward to the laser stuff

I'm surprised I even have the fingerprint on my right ring finger after my last soldering iron mishap. Half a second of contact took off most of the skin from the tip to the first knuckle.

Wasn't superglue invented for field surgery in war? Anyway, sounds like fun... I am not going to compare, it hasn't happened to me. What HAS happened to me -twice - is having needles shoved into my spine. Once for a spinal tap 23 years ago, second was last year when they were supposed to use it as a local anestetic. Anyway, it hurts a bit... 😛

I feel your pain, I made a trip to the ER after putting a 2" gash in the base of my thumb with an X-Acto blade about 10 years ago and ended up with about 8 stitches. I was trying to cut an old Dreamscape mini off it's base and like you knew immediately that I need to go to the ER.

They're small walk-in clinics that can be used instead of the Emergency Room (ER). They're usually faster to see you (usually) as well.

When I was working as a waiter years ago, I had some black bean soup spilled on my right arm. At the time, I didn't realize it was on my arm for about 3 seconds. Fortunately it was a small area, about the size of a quarter, but that was very painful. I've touched hot glue before, not on purpose, but the black bean soup spill was so much worst.
