13:11 - This is the point where both front and back swirls should be hammered. When you hammer metal, the metal hardens and is hard to work with, so save the hammering for the last. This is a lovely, elegant design, very simple and shows off the stone well. The back is also finished off nicely. Doubling up the bail wire gives a very nice touch, and looks opulent compared to a single, sparse look. Very nice. Love it! Thank you!
@OxanaCrafts9 ай бұрын
You can definitely hammer the back swirl later at the same time as the front swirl if that's easier for you. I just like hammering the back swirl first because after being hammered it becomes harder and doesn't mis shape as easily when I do all the next steps and wrap the wire around the stone, but it is all personal preference.

This is really pretty. I've done wire wrapping for some time now, and mine look sloppy cause I'm not getting my wires wrapped tight enough. You've made it look so nice and tight with your method. I'll have to try again

Maybe with some sandpaper? But then the shine would be filed away from the stone

Simple design. I like it but dont like all the ties in the back. Seems it would be easier to make a frame wite pass around the inner backside, (so there's another loop around basically).
@OxanaCrafts9 ай бұрын
Yes you can definitely do that, you'd still need some wires though to hold it all in place back there.I think in the original tutorial from 2016 on this design I did it that way.
@robotmechanic39235 ай бұрын
It is,and I found that out the hard way. This was so over complicated especially as a beginner. I was following along step by step, and now I have a good bit of trash wire now.

doea it need to be deadsoft or will half hard work too?? will half hard hammer flat like yours?

half hard will not work, it would be too difficult to bend around the stone, it sort of springs back when bent

No matter what I do my stone slips out, I can’t get it to hold in place or get two equal wraps. It’s all over the place. I’m not new to wire wrapping either. Am about to throw it across the room 😂
@OxanaCrafts5 ай бұрын
so sorry to hear that, if the stone comes out the wires need to be more on the stone trapping it in, also the stone needs to be domed, like a cabochon. And lastly the wire should be dead soft as half-hard sort of springs back when bent.

I don't care for the bend personally
@OxanaCrafts9 ай бұрын
I also prefer it without that little bend, I usually make them without it. However, if the stone is still a bit loose I wanted to show this last troubleshooting step of securing the stone, because I wouldn't want anyone to have to scrap their pendant if the stone is still loose, it is better to just add the little bend at that point and save the pendant.
@lynnmontgomery5 ай бұрын
I love that bend. Adds character. I don’t usually like the bend/twist on the back of pendants to tighten up wires though.

Why is my 5 wire weave pendants easier than this 😂😂 so frustrating
