Just bought one tonight. Great, well fitting bit of kit. I've a Belstaff from the early 80's as well and I love the thing but I'm always re-coating it. Great that you don't have to do it with this and also have a decent liner. I'm using my old army waterproof under the Belstaff at the moment. Cheers for the vid.

Getting really fond of my Hardy, I put Furygan D30 armour in and an Oxford slim back protector. I've worn it a lot over this winter in my car to sort of wear it in. I thought maybe I should've got a size bigger but it's perfect actually. I've ridden in 1°C and found it warm. Now it's Spring I've taken out the inner liner and opened the zipped vents and it will function very well for Summer riding. I love the look and style, exactly what I wanted. Good pockets. Only shoulder zip vent on one side, t'other is the velcro patch, slightly asynchronous but lovely jacket.

I aspire to having a waistline of sufficiently small circumference that I can wear something from the current Belstaff range however if I ever achieve this objective I think I'll have a look at this one as well. However I think the Belstaffs are more to my taste, but only just.

I have the same jacket and I tried to put in a back protector into it. And although you can access the inside of the jacket at the back, there was just no way of actually securing the protector in place. It was just loose and not held by anything atall. So really I can only put elbow and shoulder stuff in it. Unless I'm missing something. It is however a nice reasonably lightweight jacket.

TheMissendenFlyer The thought did actually cross my mind! Just back from the ‘Toy shop’. What an awesome display it truly is. The colours are so rich and crisp and easy to read. FYI I asked about interface with non BMW Comms and apparently early issues are being remedied with software issues as initially it was only designed with the BMW Comms in mind. The best just got better! Poor piggy bank 😂

Dave Greenslade i was extremely happy with my Merlin Atlow....for about 3 days. First off i noticed it was extremely greasy. There was even grease soaked into the box it was shipped in. It got grease on my hands, my bike seat, and it would probably begin to seep into my jeans so i would wear my cheaper jeans until some of the excess grease wore off. i wasnt able to wipe it off but it was definitely there. then on my second ride out, the button completely popped off the collar, so now i must return it :-( to begin with, the buttons were not very strong and they were very easily unsnapped. im definitely concerned with the quality control at merlin since then, and now im looking to replace it with something else. Likely the triumph/barbour collab jacket or the Oxford Bradwell, but neither have a lot of info online. I really dont want to spend the money on a Belstaff but i cant have a greasy jacket with broken buttons!

Gee was this really 6 years back. I like the look of this jacket, recently bought a adventure jacket Richa infinity 2. It’s too long for my short size, plus you get a draft in the chest area. Just a pity you didn’t show the pockets. As I like a pocket, just inside the zip at chest height. And how it looks with lining out. 6 years too late, to comment, I guess.😊

TheMissendenFlyer absolutely love it. Bought without a test ride as we were in lockdown. Just talking about how much it has impressed me (even at running in speeds) makes the hairs stand on the back of my neck. This is high praise considering I have been riding for over 40 years, and have owned many different bikes. I have fitted a set of Scorpions, which sound awesome in my opinion. I record all my rides on my bikes to share with my wife as she can no longer ride pillion, and upload to my KZbin channel for any other interested parties to “endure” ha ha. Fantastic bike. The Hardy jacket really suits my Interceptor too, if I am not careful I may be getting trendy lol. Ps, you might want to have a look at my channel, onboard footage of my 1980 Yamaha RD350LC as well !

I would call it more shower proof - OK in light rain but a deluge requires an over suit of some kind is my thinking (to be fair I've not tried it without an oversuit in a deluge). Nice looking jacket. Generally, I find that motorcycle gear is something that appears to be getting done worse and worse as time goes by. The rubber protective bits are fine, but many other considerations seem done poorly from this rider's perspective. I have a Victory leather jacket. I got it because I owned a Vic at the time and they had it in their shop. But I didn't buy it for that reason though. I bought it because it had full length vented zippers front and rear. In the mornings I can throw an electric jacket under it and be toasty. In the afternoon I can keep on going comfortably in the heat by throwing the electric jacket in my tank bag and unzipping the vents. That was a real big deal commuting for work. Finding a jacket so well designed is very difficult. Mine looks like it's been thru war, but I'm not sure I'll ever find another as versatile to replace it. It has the same problem with the wrist snaps as yours, but I either wear gloves with large over gauntlets in the cold or gloves with no gauntlets when it warms up so there's nothing underneath working against me as I try to snap it together. Biggest problem with leather and nekkid bikes are bugs. When textile gets nasty, nothing more than throwing it in a washing machine will bring it back to new. With the leather, I have to get out the saddle soap and remove the sticky little carcasses one at a time...

Nice jacket, I like the length and the styling. I only have one motorcycle jacket and that’s my Belstaff wax Crosby. Wax jackets are better quality than they used to be. Oxford look like a good brand, their locks always seem to get a bad rap from the biking community though for being low quality.

Any updates since you been riding with this jacket these past 8 months? Love your video and really love this style jacket. It should fit perfect for my 79 Triumph Bonnie slowly converting to a cafe. Being in the states Connecticut to be exact our weather has been all over the place this year. From 55 degree mornings to 90 degree afternoon to our present time rain for next 2 weeks! This jacket seems it can handle all this. Thoughts would be appreciated! Thank you

Slightly off topic - Duke denim products. Advertised as a UK brand but appear to be made in China. Just received the Duke black denim jacket I ordered off of Amazon. Shipped from Carlton, Barnsley to my surprise. Slightly larger than what I anticipated but the next size smaller Wrangler product was definitely too small. Appears to be well made; about 75% of Wrangler prices and 50% of Levi prices. Have you owned any Duke products? Opinion?

what is the material on the inside of the collar where in comes into contact with your skin? Is the liner in the arms too? Any designated waterproof pockets? how fiddley is the liner to remove and put back, lots of press studs or just the one zip. cheers

Yeah that is a nice jacket TMF. Seeing the recent Wales tour, my personal opinion, not necessarily shared by others, is you seem a bit under protected for riding the GS. I would never ride my Tiger 800 XCA without the adventure suit and proper touring boots. I have got summer gloves but that’s as far as I would go in compromising protection. I do have a Barbour style leather Triumph jacket and biking jeans, ankle lace up boots and they are very flexible to use but only on the Scrambler. Each to his/ her own and agree the Oxford Hardy is a nice jacket for a reasonable price. Cheers👍🏻🏍

Mike Stewart I agree, it's a bit of an American saying I believe but it's goes along the lines of all the gear all the time. We all have horror stories but I never ride without a proper back protector even in the 40+ Aussie summer days. Nice jacket TMF but not enough in the way of CE protection for me.
@TheMissendenFlyer
@TheMissendenFlyer 6 жыл бұрын
Well I think the level of protection is the same whether I'm falling off a Triumph Bonneville or BMW GS! I agree we all make a choice, for me as long as it's proper motorcycle kit (which this obv is) then I'm happy with the risk....but of course we all make our own choices! Thanks for watching....TMF

Hi TMF like the jacket Smart with biking summer jeans . Full lining down the arms ? Is that the street triple comfort seat I noticed How you find it ? I found it a bit harder but doesn't bottom out . Bit less grip tho keep sliding forward more than the stock when wearing text style trousers .

Hi there, really digging this jacket! I'm after something with a vintage/retro style, and this fits the bill. Could you please help with sizing?
