Here is a vlog of one of the best weeks of my life at Oxford University UNIQ Summer School 2017! I honestly could not fault it and came away with loads of new friends and feeling so inspired! Definitely apply if you can - it's life changing!

Omg watching this makes me miss Ox so much. I just graduated from Trinity and loved it so much. If you're applying, I cannot stress enough - think soooo carefully about which college you apply to, it totally shapes your experience :)

Floral Fantasy I wouldn't say it's about which is 'best'; it really depends what's important to you. They're all so different and vary in a number of factors E.g. Food, accommodation, location, grounds, academic life, reputation, architecture, sports, population, state school/private school, atmosphere etc. I would just say do your research :)

And when I say private/state school I just mean that some colleges tend to have more of a state/private population e.g. Wadham is known for being quite inclusive and diverse but that doesn't mean you can't apply anywhere you like

For people asking about summer schools try the Sutton trust, they have a summer school for a variety of unis for example I went to one for Warwick x

Leya Ali free! They even reimbursed travel costs to Oxford, which was good as some people needed to get a plane in order to go to Oxford as they lived either Ireland or too far away to travel by train. (Well this was last year, I hope nothing has changed!) x

From what I can remember we all had to apply and get our applications in during January (which is like a practise for UCAS- you fill in your gcse grades and write a mini personal statement) and then we got back our results in march as to whether we were in or not. I'd say apply for it not matter what happens, because it's such an amazing experience! Even if you don't get in just the application process is useful because it makes you feel less panicky about filling in UCAS in the summer. And like what's been said it's completely free, so why not apply? :)

I was on a summer school/ doing work experience at the Physics department the same week you were there. I'm still buzzed and feeling very inspired to do a Physics degree (preferably at Oxford now)! For anyone looking for summer schools that won't get into UNIQ or Sutton Trust: There are Debate Chamber summer schools in central London which are non selective but cost approx £450 (accommodation not included) for 5 days which isn't too bad for central London. The lessons were so interesting, the classes were quite small (15ish), I made lots of friends and most importantly I cannot stress how much I learnt! I did the economics summer school for beginners and it has really helped me with economics a level.

Miss Cole the reason it isn't exclusive is because it is aimed at students that aren't likely to be able to get one of these opportunities because of financial reasons! That's why they only let state school into the course :)

This is reminding me of when I did uniq last year! Best week of my life! You guys got to do a lot more than we did- we didn't get to experience rowing (unfortunately) or have a tutorial, and we only got £5 for lunch (Taylor's is the best right?!)! But we had 2 formal dinners and had a bop in a nightclub! Your week looked like it was a lot of fun though. Best of luck in applying :D

Is this a funded programme or is there a fee. I’m really interested in this but if there’s a steep fee I just don’t have the money for it. I know the Sutton trust do this and I’ve already applied but it’s not likely that I will get a place

Jasmine Blackwell Keep in mind her GCSE's were VERY different from yours. The new GCSE's have more content and more difficult content, so if you're aiming for 8 and 9's, definitely do review your notes.

Hello, I'm currently in year 10 and I'm very proficient in all subjects other than chemistry and physics, which I really don't see myself getting anything more than a B (6) in, do you think Oxbridge would be overly critical if I didn't do very well in those, my desire is to study History and Politics (possibly economics) so those two subjects aren't really related. Would anyone's knowledge or opinion🙂🙂
