I still see a chilling effect on how they articulated themselves, like the lad who said he needed to know more before he could formulate an opinion . I sincerely think he had an opinion but would not articulate it. In general lots of ~"yes such is needed to develop reasonable conclusions, but no conclusion I will share"

Thanks to the people who decided to try and cancel her, thus made her famous, I've now researched her and spent about four hours reading her views and and viewing her speeches, debates etc. So thanks cancel culturist, you have made me research the subject more and I agree with Ms. Stock.

Popularity has nothing to do with being right. Science is unequivocal "Transgenderism is not a mental illness, but a natural diversity in human beings". No amount of opinions can change Science. 8 billion people supporting her views will not change science. The only way to change science is better science published in well reputed peer reviewed scientific journal. Scientific facts ultimately take over the wrong majority opinion who can't comprehend complicated issues when they r not connected to their life. After 1000 years, opposing tans rights would be as ridiculous as people opposing right of left-handed people. It's just that the majority is unable to come to terms with current science. If u don't like current science, prove it otherwise by better science. Otherwise, slowly, science will take over irrespective of 8 billion people views and freedom of expression. You have the right to freedom of expression, but not the right to have your expression used not being condemned for anti-scientific and anti-humanitarian. Rather than cancel culture, better thing is to actually invite these people and show them how unscientific their opinions r. In the long run like 1000 years, I'm sure that Science will eliminate these views significantly, but let them have a say.

I disagree, whilst I liked the lads demeanor , I do think his reservations on articulating any conclusion due to his self professed ignorance on the oppositions position was simple a result of the chilling effect they impose on him/us. Not one of those who attended the talk shown here , offered anything they thought was persuasive or not from the presentation they'd just witnessed. They could still caveat any such thought with "I need to know more" , but they know just repeating a point they found interesting will have them smeared in the same way as the speaker. Meanwhile the opposition movement speaker at the end articulated her conclusions with impunity.

Why didn't you ask the last interviewee for specifics on the hate crimes and attacks she claims the 'trans community' is so prone to? We have hard evidence of sex and violent attacks committed by men on women, and yet their fight boils down to allowing men even more access to potential victims. 60% of the men in prison who say they're women are serving time for sex crimes, for instance.

The woman at the end says, "It is people's lives you're talking about." I wonder if she considers the lives or women and girls who are losing access to single-sex spaces and having their language co-opted to include males? When a woman is raped and impregnated by a trans-identifying male (i.e., a man) housed in the women's prison, as has already occurred multiple times, will we be allowed to discuss the lives of those female assault victims? Or is it only trans-identifying males that count?

The arguement of biology isnt a great one tbh ... biology is very complicated and not something binary in this instance. @@Padraigp What are you talking about? Sex is binary, with the only very mild exceptions being cases where something has demonstrably gone wrong with development. We also do not define being black or disabled as a matter of personal choice, or innate abstract construct. We define them as thing that correspond to verifiable reality. There is nothing complicated about biology manifesting sex, and sex defining the body's development from conception until death. When women are objectified... what do you think it is that is being objectified? Their abstract personality type?
@Padraigp
@Padraigp Жыл бұрын
@@euanmacleod3738 sex is conceptually binary yes but biologically its a lot more complicated the amount of variables involved in those two usual outcomes is not at all binary. At all. Lol. Pretty much nothing in biology is binary but of course we do make it a binary concept to write books for little children. But by the time you get to premed biolgoy its a mind fuck of complexity. Generally a majority will fall into one of two catagories ...binary means that everyone falls into one of two options. On or off. In biology there is nothing in your body that is ever a matter of on or off yes or no black or white this or that. Even mitochondia have a lot of complexity to them. But generally boradly speaking and in a simpled down way yeah sure boys and girls. But just because you dumb something down to a binary cincept doesnt make the reality binary. And a lot of cultures and people recognise that and havw always recognised that. But it seems like a lot of people have read the ladybird book of biology and thats as far as their concepts have gone. Because for the most part oversimplified concepts are a useful shortcut that we all take in day to day life. It is a pwrcectly sufficient concept for the general dogsbody on the street to have. Just as people can have a simplistic concept of money. Or work or bank loans or relationships or weather or anything else that they have no need to kbow about. Like bees make honey and wasps arent fuzzy. Thats fine for general identiffication of wasps and bees ands nobody ever needs to consider the bees that look like wasps or the wasps that look like bees because they simply have simple lives where complexities of such things never concern them. And i suspect that you are one of those who need not bother yourself with lifes complexities. If its of no interest to you to delve deeper then just go about with the simple concepts that you have. No need to change. Its only when somone has some deeper need to understand the differences because they cincern them thay they need to bother.

Thankfully the 'say anything that might be construed as not entirely supportive, we'll use the 'phobic' word and then you'll be a pariah' thing has not been swallowed whole by society, so people now feel they can actually say SOMETHING that isn't totally evasive anymore. I think the media's connivance in allowing that activist tactic to be publicised and propagated barely challenged from roughly 2018 to mid pandemic was a significant dereliction in their role. And then there were people who put up signs in offices and schools 'transphobia will not be tolerated'. Fine at one level, but heavily dependant on the interpretation of 'transphobia' which by activists making the running was as broadly as possible. Against that backdrop such simple signs and messages of support took on a more loaded feel which was deniable but every so often shown to have the teeth many suspected. Absolutely disgusting way to railroad a debate that touches on biological reality as one element, and all the many do-gooders who abetted this railroading until the penny dropped that this one wasn't just a case of virtue bandwagoning for the next great social victory, it was more nuanced. That's where we are now, and thankfully as a result the hard-line activists shrill tactics are on the verge of tipping from strength to liability. The media will challenge what they think is socially acceptable to challenge ONLY. They preen themselves as purveyors of free speech and of course they are hugely important in that, but not quite with the principles and courage that they tell themselves. If someone is brandishing phobic words they often self censored their questions, challenges and approach. They hid behind feminists for the period I mentioned, giving the false impression that only feminists and the religious were sceptical of the extent of the trans-rights movement. Anyone else was on their own went the message, and so many in the media faithfully broadcast it...while handwringing privately but doing very little effective to balance the narrative for many months at least. Which included a 'say anything trans sceptic even outside your job and you could be fired' element. That literally wasn't challenged for a significant period. The media had a role in allowing that tactic to succeed, and in terms of having a spine and taking responsibility they were pathetic.

It's great that you all were able to platform three such articulate, thoughtful students. Anyone who's worried about hurting the feelings of the trans-identified when discussing 1) the human rights to free speech, and from compelled speech, and 2) girls' and women's rights to dignity, privacy, safety, and fairness -- needs to brief themselves on the stats. Especially those from pre-2015, after which self-ID gender started, at times, being recorded instead of sex in crime investigations. Male-on-female violence and crime statistics -- including flashing and public masturbation near girls and women, voyeurism, stalking, simple and aggravated assault, sexual and otherwise, and rape -- matter for everyone, even those from middle- and upper-income mileus. Trans-identified males commit these crimes at the same or greater rates as the non-trans-identified do. Something else that matters: the ever-increasing number of detransitioners who, as children, were gaslit into medicalized, irreversible procedures and now can only grieve the loss of their younger healthy bodies. By conforming to a fad they thought signified their progressive individuality, they must now live with a damaged body for the rest of their lives. Which can be such a difficult prospect that they're in fact more likely, not less, to commit suicide after engaging with the trans-medical complex. It's horrific. So yes, anyone concerned about hurting feelings needs to 1) learn some statistics, 2) learn some history, starting with McCarthyism in the U.S. and China's Cultural Revolution, and 3) learn about the power those with Cluster B personality disorders (narcissistic, borderline, histrionic, antisocial) have been exerting on society especially through social media. Honesty and courage are necessary in the face of selfish, regressive, immaturity.

Right or Wrong, wither you agree or disagree , this isn't the point. The point is being able to discuss and debate such controversial and difficult issues openly without that conversation being shut down. This is how society filters the good ideas from the bad and society progresses. By shutting down the ability to talk about issues leads to a very dark path.

We are creating a problem by making reasoned debate part of this landscape. If we follow the rules of reasoned debate we will never get anywhere because one side is arguing from bad faith and deliberate distortions. We need to start having one-sided debates where trans are excluded and we can thrash out solutions without them interfering. I'm done with them using language like 'genocide' and 'life saving medical care'. The trans community have proved they cannot handle debate at any level, they cannot handle reality, so they need to be excluded form the debate while we move society on without them.

Sexual reproduction is not a debatable point. For example: _“Gender is a social construct.”_ Nope! No it is not. Sexual reproduction is not a debatable point. You’ve failed the moment you treat it as anything less than absolute. The woke have only very recently (early 2023) started acknowledging a distinction between “gender” and “biological sex.” What they’ve failed to realize is that by acknowledging this distinction, they’ve lost the entire debate. Because all that’s left is “gender,” which they’re simply conflating with personality. No one’s refuting “boys can wear pink and girls can wear blue,” and everyone acknowledges harmful sexual stereotypes, and that they can change over time. No one was ever disagreeing with that.Their attempts to frame questions as misogynistic bigotry is disingenuous, manipulative, and a pretty blatant tell. Seriously. When was the last time you heard a teacher say _“Oh dear, you can’t study that, it’s not women’s work…”._ And no one is refuting the existence of sexism or sexist behaviour. But to pretend as though it’s so prevalent you need entire university departments to fight it is little more than a transparent power/money grab. Also, who’s the young guy they’re interviewing at the start, and why is he pretending to speak with a lisp? You don’t need to listen too closely to spot the inconsistencies.
@PozoBlue
@PozoBlue Жыл бұрын
When that phrase 'gender is a social construct' was coined by old school feminism, not a single feminists was using 'gender' to mean 'sex'. That famous saying was precisely pointing out that social norms and stereotypes (gender) were socially and culturally constructed and changing according to place and point in history, and were socialized/imposed on men and women (sex). Their point was that most were not 'innate' but social (e.g. boys like blue and wearing trousers, women like wearing pink and dresses, etc.). That is what that phrase meant. Transactivism muddied the linguistic waters and gender and sex became conflated. If you take gender to men sex that phrase makes no sense, but it does make sense if understood as originally proposed.
@readthetype
@readthetype Жыл бұрын
That’s some expert back-peddling. In the context of this debate, absolutely no one was ever refuting the assertion that social norms and stereotypes change over time. What they WERE refuting was _“I’m a woman if I say I’m a woman, which means by law, I should have access to women’s jails, locker rooms, sports &c.”_ Only now are proponents of that assertion starting to realize how absurd it was, and falling back to the position you just outlined. If the trans activists of today meant what you claim they meant, we wouldn’t be having this conversation.

Man in podcast had to choose between the most beautiful trans in the world or the World's oldest woman. He was not gay so he took the woman. Women in the studio got triggered and some walked out. It's wonko. The delusion and selfidentity don't remove the male body he had to sleep with. Your not sleeping with the selfidentity\delusion but with a male body of cource. Don't be infantile.

Wow. Most women would have been very happy with his choice. A compliment and validation of what womanhood is; something innate that no one can take from you, or give you. But they would have prefered a choice that would nullify their own existence. If some women did not take the side of these men in dresses we would not be where we are now.

I think the very late experience of Quentin Crisp, who had maintained that he was homosexual up to that point, is worth thinking about: "At the age of ninety, it has finally been explained to me that I am not really homosexual, I’m transgender. I now accept that. All my life, I have wanted to be part of society without having to alter my daydream, my own reality. . . . I never came ‘out’ as transgender or gay because I was never ‘in’ and I’ve never known anything except the life I have. I either lived in the dream world in which I was a woman or else I lived awkwardly in the outside world where I was inadequate. The only difference is that now I live my whole life unified by the fact that I can live in the outer world the way I live in my head. I couldn’t always do that and it’s a freedom I now cherish. . . . I don’t think I ever consciously questioned my sexuality, my identity, my gender, or my daydream. . . . The dream that I am really a woman closed about me entirely. I went through life as though I was a boy in the outer world, but in my head I went on as though I were a woman. This explains why my life has been so strange." ~ Quentin Crisp

In my case "privately" they make a grey colour, you know, black and not wide because who children who don't know their identities especially in hyper techonology nowdays could be "playing" they do samesex marriage around them, that's the point then those children can not fight back because unknowning... If you love to be a male or a female, just do surgery, those are permited, religion could allows...many person changed their sex because, feel good with that identity. However many people mock them indeed... The biggest sin ever made is samesex marriage, if those billions female there are wanting to mix, even a male standing around them could be permited then those female must marriage with a male only 🌐🇬🇧🎁❤️

What is the ‘trans community’? Are we to believe that a bloke with convictions for rape etc is actually a woman (or any bloke is a woman) and that person shares communal links with a teenage girl who perhaps is attracted to other girls but is struggling with that, and struggling with her body changing and has been told that she is actually a boy - and that the best way to be her true self is to have her breasts removed and be out on hormone drugs to make her more masculine? Stop this madness and leave children alone, and keep all men out of women’s spaces. Simple.
