I agree with you a 100 percent. I’m 16 years old and I have the exam by the end of this week. I couldn’t be more nervous. We only had 5 months to prepare for the CAE, which is basically nothing. Even though during this time we have practiced a lot, most of us still don’t feel quite ready. Honestly, I think that we all would have been way more prepared to sit for the exam next year, but we are suppose to be sitting for Proficieny. Anyway, all schools who force their students to give an exam at such a young age should stop for a minute and think about what they are doing. AND NEXT TIME DEAR TEACHER DO NOT TELL ME I AM READY WHEN I AM OBVIOUSLY NOT.

@Oxfordonlineenglish17 жыл бұрын
Hi, it really depends where you are now and what your strengths/weaknesses are. You can prepare for reading, listening and use of English yourself if you know what to do, but for writing/speaking you need some kind of feedback. We do offer online classes which you can do from home (www.oxfordonlineenglish.com/book-classes). My advice would be to take a practice exam (there are sample tests here www.cambridgeenglish.org/exams/advanced/preparation/) and check your scores so that you know where you are now. This will give you a better idea of what you need to do.

I think I've done badly at the speaking part of the exam . I just froze and didn't know what to say. Is there a chance I could still pass the exam ?
@Oxfordonlineenglish16 жыл бұрын
Hi there, it depends on how you did with the other sections. What do you think about those?
@Player-re9mo6 жыл бұрын
Oxford Online English Today I had the rest of my exam . Well , at "Reading and use of English" I know I've answered to all exercises, but they took my sheet of paper before I could transfer my answers to the other sheet so I couldn't write at least half of the answers ( I know I was supposed to have enough time, but I thought 5 minutes are enough to transfer my answers. They weren't, so when they took my sheet I felt highly irritated ). They were good answers. At the "Writing" part I was satisfied with my essay, but my email was too short. At "Listening" I understood the voices clearly and tried to answer as good as I could. It is the first CAE exam I took.
@Oxfordonlineenglish16 жыл бұрын
It can be difficult to get the timing right for these exams. You might be able to get a passing grade still, provided the listening and writing portions score well. Good luck!
@Player-re9mo6 жыл бұрын
@@Oxfordonlineenglish1 Today I received the results . My score is 171 . So I guess according to CAE I am B2 level now . Well I suppose that this is a good result but I think I am capable of more . As I stated above I wasn't able to trasfer at least half of the answers at the Reading part , so that is what I think affected my score . Even if the results say I am B2 level from my point of view I am C1 level. I wanted to take this exam to prove how good my English is. Now , I don't think the results represent my level of English correctly, but there is nothing I can do about that. Anyway, I am grateful that I will receive a certificate at level B2
@mariadaozheng5 жыл бұрын
@@Player-re9mo so, if you present to the C1 exam and you don't pass it, but you have enough level of B2, do they give you the B2 certificate or you have to repeat B2 even though you reached the score in C1?
