We normally pay two months of deposits and one month of rent when we are signing the contract and we need to pay half rent to the estate agent if the house is not rented by the house owner but by the estate agent, it's common for doing the inventory before moving in and out, the rule of cleaning part is same as in Taiwan as well

Hi Teacher’s, I really enjoy watching your videos. Really helping me for my study. I remember when I use to live in Philippines in the big City we’re I work. I just renting a one bed room apartment with kitchen, living room, bathroom in a condominium. It’s a fully furnished. So I don’t need to buy anything to put in . My room is located in 19th floor. It’s absolutely the same requirements in Philippines that you need to pay a one month deposit and advance as well. So you will get your deposit back after the final inventory after you move out in a month or so. The apartment is look old and but renting a new one is more expensive. So I just grab the old apartment just for myself.

Hi Iyn, we're so glad you enjoy the lessons. Thanks for sharing. Here are a few suggestions for you: 1) '...when I used to live in...' not, 'use'. 2) Are you talking about the past or present? If it's the present don't use 'I remember when'. That is a phrase used to talk about a past event. 3) '...big city where I work,' not, '... big City we’re I work'. Hope this is useful for you!

@Oxfordonlineenglish14 жыл бұрын
Good question, Rama. A common phrase for this situation is 'rent out'. For example: 'I'm renting out my flat while I'm away'. In real estate terms, this can also be called a 'sublease'.

Thank you very much for your reply and answer to my question. 👌👏👏👏👍. For the first time, as luck would have it, you left me with an impression that I have come across a right person at a right U-tube channel to answer my long nagging and mind boggling questions, after all these ages.Please make a video on each of the following questions if your time permits you/at least, answer me through reply if you please. Difference between 1. I saw him cross the road and I saw him crossing the road. 2. I like to read books and I like reading books. 3. I will come tomorrow and I would come tomorrow. 4. I want to talk to you and I would like to talk to you. 5. I did it and I have done it (note: In both cases, time is not mentioned ) 6. If you asked, I would give you and if you ask, I will give you. 7. He may have gone and he might have gone. 8. I could have done it and I would have done it. 9. If you don't mind, please tell me this address and would you mind telling me this address and I was wondering if you could tell me this address and I am wondering if you can tell me this address. 10. I can't help seeing you and I can't help but see you. 11. I am walking and I am taking a walk and I am going for a walk. 12. I think he's a nice guy; I guess he's a nice guy, I assume he's a nice guy. I believe he's a nice guy, I suppose he's a nice guy. 13. I should go, I have to go, I am to go, I am supposed to go, I have got to go, I must go, I ought to go. 14. I am good in English, I am good at English. 15. I haven't seen him in a while, I haven't seen for a while. Dear Sir, these are a few of the questions that pester us, non-native speakers as to use in our day to day using English language. It would be a great and once in a lifetime help if you can make videos on the above questions. Thank you 🙏 a humble request. Have a nice time. I know it's not fair on my part showering you with all my questions, but I hope you can understand the fact that one looks at a tree bearing fruits, expectantly. A child looks at mother alone when he is hungry. A patient looks at doctor when he/she gets pain. A student looks at teacher when he /she has a question and so do I. ( look at you as no channel ever tried answering my questions )

In my country, You have rent a apartment at least 3 months lease. You need to provide NRC copy, passport copy or current landlord's reference. You need to pay 1 month deposit but you can get it back before you move out from your apartment or house. If anything is damaged before you move out, you have to pay the same amount of the property.
@Oxfordonlineenglish12 жыл бұрын
Great, Zunthu. Thanks for sharing. Here are a few suggestions for you: 1) '...you have to rent an apartment...' not, '...You have rent a apartment...' 2) '...with a minimum 3-month lease,' not, '...at least 3 months lease...' 3) 'You need to provide a copy of your NPR, passport...' not, 'You need to provide NRC copy, passport copy...' Hope this helps you!

Hello to both of you. I'm afraid there's a snag with the quiz. I've done it five times, but the green line never goes all the way to the end to record my answers. I've tried it with my PC or my smartphone. The good thing is that now I know all the words by heart. But I'm a little frustrated. Anyway. Again, your video is very useful and informative. So thank you very much.

Hi Brigitte, thanks for watching and letting us know! I've just tested the quiz and it seems to be working on my end. Have you tried using a different browser? Sometimes the firewall can cause issues as well. See if it works for you, and hopefully that helped! Edit: one more suggestion: clear your temporary browser files. In your browser settings, you should be able to find an option to 'delete temporary files' or 'delete local files'. Try using this, then restart your browser. If you have problems in future, please contact us (www.oxfordonlineenglish.com/contact-us), and we will investigate.

i rented an apartment several times in several places ago. let me started with zhuhai first. i did not call the estate agent directly but walked around the area for my preference. they were some ads outside their house. and it left number on it. so you could ring them. the first one was smooth at the very beginning. you would need the following. checked out the apartment. for my case, i just wanted a bedroom with bathroom. these were the basic requirements. then, i usually would sign a lease with at least 12 months. 2 months rent for deposit, one month rent, your ID. then you just signed the contrat. they did not have a formal inventory. you got the key. i needed to pay my water and electricity bill also. they were not covered by your rent. i only got one month rent back for the deposit as i broke the contract. the reason was that i got hurt during the typhoon. the house was kind of damaged. i felt unsafe. this was an unpleasant experience.
@Oxfordonlineenglish13 жыл бұрын
Thank you for watching and sharing your response. Here are a few suggestions for you: 1) 'I've rented many different apartments in several places,' not, 'i rented an apartment several times in several places ago'. 2) 'Let me start with...' not, 'started'. 3) Capitalize proper nouns and the first letter of each sentence: 'I, Zhuhai, They were some ads..., etc'. Hope this is useful for you!

I often rent a house or an apartment via either flyers or estate agent. After asking some necessary information, I will look around the property to decide whether I move in or not. In my country, before moving into a new place, we need to pay rental deposit and one month's rent. During my tenancy, I can redecorate the place if I want to as long as I don't significantly change the appearance of the house. However, I don't need to provide any references. I can also get the deposit back or not depends on landlords. Before I leave, I must clean the property thoroughly and make sure that everything is spotless. If the landlord find something is dirty or damaged, I won't get the full amount of my deposit back.
@Oxfordonlineenglish12 жыл бұрын
Thanks for sharing your great response. Here are some corrections for you: 1) 'After getting some necessary information...' not, 'asking.' 2) '...whether I'll move in or not,' not, 'I.' 3) '...pay a rental deposit...' not, '...pay rental deposit...' Hope this is useful for you!
