I'm really happy that Tarantino gave the world a chance to meet wonderful actors such as Daniel Brühl, Christoph Waltz, August Diehl etc. They are some of Europe's finest actors and they deserve more recognition internationally. I was truly gutted when Brühl was not nominated for an Oscar for his performance as Niki Lauda. He had been nominated for a Golden Globe and a BAFTA and he deserved that Oscar nomination.

@ International recognition doesn't have to mean the US necessarily. My opinion is, if you want to watch a good film, look up the list of contenders for Palm d'Or in Cannes, not for Best Picture Oscar. Still most people has never heard of many of those films, haven't watched any and never will and because Hollywood is so dominant all around the world. Therefore they won't know who those actors and filmmakers are. For instance, I'm not American, I'm European and I live in Europe and I don't know if any of my friends would know who August Diehl is. Yet they do know tons of American actors, many of whom don't have an ounce of Diehl's talent - but they are popular. I'm sorry for such a long comment. I hope I explained well what I wanted to say. 🙂

Awards nominations have always been the marketing decision of the studio to see who is more likely to win and to give the movie more of an international lift. In this case they knew Waltz was more likely to win and he did and that's that.

Somehow his accent sounds like a “perfekt” English. He’s got so many different languages in his DNA so it’s a combination of all languages.
@medeaworbs69703 жыл бұрын
That is also, in part, because of how we learn English in Germany. In many parts of Germany, we are taught Oxford English in schools, and a lot of teachers put a lot of emphasis on how you pronounce stuff. Germans who intend to use their English a lot will likely focus on keeping the way we speak "clean" and not take up an accent (especially not a German one). But yes, since he is fluent in four languages, his abilities in that departement are high-level. However, languages are not genetic. You cannot have a language in your DNA. You don't have abilities in your DNA, or skills. That is all due to learning, to studying. You cannot just genetically inherit a skill.

okay but if he enjoys picking characters based on his attraction to the script... his role in the MCU is even cooler bc homeboy may not have even been made fully aware of what was going on and what the future playing of the character would entail 🥺 that’s acting, bubba

Zemo caused the civil war among the Avengers, along with the Sokovia accords. The Russo brothers said Thanos would probably not have succeeded if the Avengers had been more united.
