I think it's because of the debating tradition in Oxford, which they're big on. Both sides of the argument like in the houses of parliament. They might be fixed seats.

Those aren't chairs those are benches. Somebody put those benches there like that 1000 years ago so that's how they are today. English don't like changes. UK still writes it's laws on sheep skin and celebrities receive knighthood from the Queen. Lot of inbreeding between the Royals as well.

Conan is just a quintessential human being. He has some amazing life accomplishments but he's content, he's not conceited; he takes life one day at a time. He's so comfortable with being himself. The guy is so wise and his aura is just beaming! He is life.

This is the only Oxford union address I watch again and again. Conan is both one of the silliest people on tv and the most insightful. It just shows you how humble he is to be that smart yet be willing to be that silly for his comedy. He doesn’t take himself seriously at all and that makes him one of the greats to me.

The irony of and for all great comedians, and Conan nails it with his "you shouldn't laugh at that", is that their is an insecurity or even overwhelming sadness within. What a great presentation and Conan is Top Shelf material without a doubt.

Thank you for this! I can relate to some of what Conan has gone through. Im in this stage in my career where i feel like i am such a failure. Work is stressing me out constantly and I feel like everything i do is a mistake. It’s a relief knowing that even great successful persons go through the same.

I love you Conan!!!! I was watching his first year when i was young too. My older sister was 10 years older than me and would have to watch me when our dad traveled for business. So her stoner friends would all come over and we always watched Conan. They were super high but i was not and I loved it🥰 Now my kids watch him with me. A comedy legend, big time.

I remember first seeing this video when it had been up for like one or two hours, and now this must be the fourth of fifth time I'm watching this in it's entirety. Just wanna say that watching Conan has got me through so much... Even today, when I was feeling down, had a lot of things eating at me, I trusted this man enough to say "lemme load up his video, he'll make everything alright." And I'd have to say yes, he did make everything alright, I'm feeling much better now...
