Greg Smith exactly. Jol got us to 5th twice in a row and only missed out on 4th because of lasagna-gate. Harry then got us to 4th twice. So it’s not really that much of a huge leap that everyone thinks.

He made it very public that he had a hard on for the England job. Was about 12 points clear of Arsenal in 3rd at the time and ended that season with no CL qualification. He fell on his own sword and that was that really.

Yep. He was pitching for the England job and didn't seem bothered by Spurs slump in form. With the possibility of Chelsea pinching that last CL place the team talks should have been a piece of cake. He must have known 4th place might not be enough. They were right to let him go.

Yes at the time he was asked you got one year left you should sign a new deal he said the spurs players didn't care who the manager was. When he didn't get the England job he said he should get a new deal because its important the spurs player know who the manager is long term. Just be honest Harry.

He openly courted the England job while only thinking short term at spurs. Every player he bought in was to "do a job", not to be developed and become an Ali, Kane, Wimmer, Dier etc...I remember his time at spurs extremely fondly, but he wasn't thinking in the long term interests of the club, I fully understand Levy's choice

Should've most definitely got the England job over Roy "the owl" Hodgeson! England would've been a much better managed and successful side had Harry Redknapp became the manager plus I think nearly all the players wanted him as the boss to work under him. I can't imagine anyone being remotely excited about Hodgson lol. He was boring as hell and fgs he had Kane taking the bloody corners wtf!? but Southgate has done a decent job with England and he's brought back the passion and pride to wear the three lions.

From my oppinon Harry was great at tottenham he got the club off its knees made to top 4 twice spite Chelsea winning champions league. Harry had great squad of players he persuaded ledley King not to give up cos of his knee problem got him going again and earned him a couple england call ups. Harry got the best out of bale he got van der vart playing for spurs he got the best out jermain defoe. So he got had media specualtion every week bout England not exactly harry fault and even to this day I still hate levy for sacking harry still cant understand y there's nothing logical to that sacking he got spurs to top 4 made to the quarters in champions league not a bad run to be fair. Far as I think levy was wrong to sack harry and bring in rookie manager like AVB what a joke he was along with sherrwood until poch came along who did magic with club just like harry did but went the further the distance until again levy stabs mangers in the back and sacks em. Levy is ruthless but never wants to spend big hes a tight sod. Rant over

Do me a favour Harry. You openly made your feelings clear that you wanted the England job and actually thought he was gonna get it iswel. So when levy sacked him I totally understood. Infact that’s when I started to really respect levy because that sacking was almost a statement saying we are spurs a massive club, don’t you dare disrespect us. Treat us like Real Madrid. Don’t start thinking of other jobs regardless of if it’s England. I had a slight smile when he didn’t get the England job because for some reason he thought he was an absolute shoe in. I loved Harry though don’t get me wrong but was angry with how he seemed to want to go as if he had won us the title or something.
