Jarre very famous in Russia, maybe only kids don't know him now. People from USSR growed up with cosmic ideas, extreme north research, also Siberia, with books, movies and music that somehow talks about. Also, there are in Russia was depressive mood and enough dark time. Music of Jarre bringed to mind and reflected all this things.. His music very special for many peolple. After all this is was 850th birthday of Moscow that's why so much people.

Music unites us. I have worked with many of the Russian people over my career and have liked them all, good, hard working, intelligent and with a great and very quick sense of dry humour. We need to put pressure on both our politicians to stop our nations being so antagonistic with each other, when we have so much in common. There is no need for our governments to be enemies when we as people can and do get on so well with each other.
@alexanderkuptsov61173 жыл бұрын
I think you overestimate his popularity among Russians, tbh. Those who liked that kind of music obviously knew and liked him, but I think Soviet Russians liked rock and in general guitar music much better.

He' s one of the pioneer of electronic music , with K Schulze, Kraftwerk, Tangerine Dream and others musicians. They began to use the first synthetizers during the 70's . J M Jarre was very famous during the 70's and 80's, now a lillte bit less. So if you are quite young it's normal that you don't know him. Anyway he's a legend in electronic music. His father was the famous soundtrack's composer Maurice Jarre
