Volcanea can be really fun if you have magma channels and Volcanoes. Many of those seeds actually bury the oil biome beneath a magma layer. So you often have to hack your way through the magma before you have access to oil. One challenge I often issue is to demonstrate a few heat deletion techniques without relying on steam turbines, or even fully ban them (haha), but feel free to play as you wish.

I'll likely end up polling viewers about how to build, so its not so much 'as you wish' as it is 'as the collective decides'

Good stuff as always. Been considering what to play next since I just finished up an Archonexus run on RW. Been a while since I played ONI. I always end up cooking my poor duplicants because I just can't get the heat under control.

Heat can be hard to control I find it is best to be very careful about the heat you generate so you can have a lot of time to prepare

"is there any way to vent heat to space" -> actually there is! But that heat has to be contained in a gas. This is actually a plausible way to provide industrial scale cooling without steam turbines or temp resets

Hello, I was watching the old streams on Twitch so I'm not sure which episode this would refer to on KZbin, but at one point, you complained about not being able to draw pipes in straight lines. If I'm not mistaken, you can hold down the shift key or something to force the lines straight. It's also been a year since I have played so I'm not confident. I'm like 70% sure. Anyways, hope this tip helps if someone else hasn't already let you know.

Time for some good old Geo thermal power cuz its the easiest to generate on a volcano planet
@Rhadamant Жыл бұрын
You mean steam generators?
@wereserts Жыл бұрын
@@Rhadamant in a way yea, you'd harness some magma to boil water and get steam. Essentially it's a good way to tame and utilize a volcano
@Rhadamant Жыл бұрын
@@wereserts Yeah I've done plenty of setups like that

Just as a note. And im only throwing some info out so Rhadamant don't take a dump on me like you have before as im not telling you what to do 🙂 the only important thing to do in the first cycle is outhouses or they pee on the floor. eating on the floor and sleeping on the ground is fine as happiness isn't an issue at the start for a bunch of cycles with the buff "new beginnings" I think its called, But always get cots and tables up on cycle2. As a speed tip always build your research beside the gate and then when you get super computer do it directly on the other side of the gate as it gives you 15% speed bonus in the light it gives off.
@Rhadamant Жыл бұрын
Yup, I went straight for an outhouse for that exact reason

I'm super excited to see this I do enjoy this game. What did you not like the Dlc if I may ask?
@Rhadamant Жыл бұрын
I found the added mechanics annoying rather than fun. The original game is rated 96% and the DLC is rated 77%, if you want to see what other people said about it just read the reviews on steam for the DLC

$10 to support an awesome development team is not a big ask. Might have had a sub and some views otherwise.
@Rhadamant Жыл бұрын
I didn't *enjoy* the DLC, it wasn't about the price. I found it not to be fun. Given that Spaced Out has 77% Positive reviews and the original game has 96% Positive reviews I'd say a lot of people agree with me too.
@neutorathor9810 Жыл бұрын
The dev team might be great, but as far as I am aware the money would go to the owners of Klei Entertainment instead, which is Tencent. To each their own, of course. I personally didn't find the DLC interesting enough to get it but I can see why a lot of ONI players did. ONI is still a great game. However, I would say the argument of "supporting the game company" is a bit tenuous ... I am sure that Tencent, the biggest Chinese holding conglomerate and one of the largest companies in the world, will survive just fine without our money.
