They should give the Skullcracker a buff like the Knights of the Brazen Throne. Literally running a train through enemy units should be more impactful.

All about balance. Also trains in real life for the longest time couldnt even run thru a cow. Nowa days they can but its very risky. So imagine going thru a bunch of infantry

@@zyncwargaming179 Yeah uh that cow thing is not true at all lol. Early trains were slow, yeah, being around 20 mph on the low side. It's still a train though, going max speed it won't splatter a cow in half but it's not going to stop either. There's a HUGE mass gap between a cow and a train.

Pretty sure he's taller than the human model. But who cares, plenty of species are that count as infantry. Astragoth being an infantry unit is a good call. We have a pure Foot Lord that plays a bit different from the rest. Also, he's an elderly disabled Little Person who needs stilts to walk anywhere.

Gun units having LoS issues? Well I never... Im actually really disappointed to see that it isn't really addressed in 3.0. Gun units are super frustrating to use and I was hoping they would fix them.

Well, to be fair, the problem (at least in this battle) is that they are shooting through the ground, not getting LoS obstructed... so technically, they may have "fixed" that problem, just with a solution that also needs fixing

How would you suggest they were "fixed"? Guns shoot in a straight-ish line and have superior AP to arrow weapons. Sure, they're harder to position effectively but with a superior payoff in their damage. Doesn't seem like a problem for "they" to "fix" to me, it kinda sounds like a skill issue.

@@EyebrowsGaming They need a bigger payoff. The Total War game where guns feel best is Shogun II, so they should replicate that sort of damage where fun units can wipe out a quarter of a unit on the first volley.

@@EyebrowsGaming The LOS issue isn't an issue of clean polished mechanics. The AI of the individual units have shit targeting in general and will self inflict LoS issues by aiming throughout their squad incorrectly or the like. You'll notice its a MUCH less common issue for the AI controlled arms who have each individual unit getting micro focused repeat commands to fire on a unit 10/15+ times a second and that if you spam click on a single unit ordering them to fire over and over they'll respond similarly with better performance. Its a poor game design issue not a balance of balancing gun units vs bow vs crossbow type thing.

Thing is there are also many little hills and unevenness of the map. So sometimes even though it looks like your units have clean los when you zoom and flattened your POV you actually see that their Los isn't so clear. I think clearer indicators may go a long way Because if even only a few guns can shoot the UI will show them as shooting so no problem. But actually you are getting alot less dps.

Chaos dwarves are so cool, feels like there are tons of ways to play them. I hope they make deathshrieker and skullcracker more viable and maybe differentiate the kdai fireborn from the bull ogres a bit but the rest of the roster looks really nice. It also looks like they will play very differently depending on what faction you're fighting.

Frankly, I feel like they should change the trait on the Hobgoblins to be more like devastating Flanker, just that it affects a different stat than charge bonus. The current one means that Hobgoblin Cutthroats have the same initial weapon strength as Orc Boyz which is kind of silly, considering that they're only two thirds the size and weight of your average Orc.

Well too be fair a units weapon strength isn’t purely based on the units physical strength in the lore. It’s absolutely part of it, but if it was purely that then units like skaven would have much lower weapon strength.

I hope the dreadquake mortar is shown more in games. It's got queen bess tier damage but also way more mobile and way faster (though you do pay a hefty premium for it)

Cool to see the Chaos Dwarfs in action. They look great. But Astrogoth's movement animation looks a bit weird when I saw it up close. Reminds me of a table top battle long ago when my Dwarfs fought Chaos Dwarfs. My Dwarf Lord had a 2+ ward against fire and dueled the destroyer for the whole gave. (Saving every wound on a 2+ on a d6.)

@Turin I think if CA tuned some stats on the death shriekers and magma cannons to make them have 3 models and a better pick for large targets or counter artillery rather than all single entities (what's with CA and making all arty single entities recently) they can be pretty good. Leave the Dreadquake as the only single entity arty due to how devastating it is. Sad to see the Death Shrieker as a meme unit / very bad.

The magma cannon is ridiculously strong as it is. It doesn't need any buffs. That thing deletes infantry incredibly fast and will almost always pay for itself
