Don´t the vampires have some cheap melee heroes? Seemed like the tainted Dorfs had problems with Vlad and maybe 1 or 2 more blood drinking vamps would have been nice instead of the cavalry and a few other units which didnt do much.

not quite, the vampire heroes can be somewhat squishy being casters, but wight kings on foot can be quite tanky also being shielded. They even have an item, skabscrath, for some cheap extra winds of death. There might be something to the vlad + 2 wight king blob fight.

I also wonder about wraith units. Tons of AP, relatively quick, high physical resist -- they might be a good way to deal with the heavy armor on the elites when you start running out of magic

However, with their strider and some micro you can dodge magma shots and the hobgoblins are also not the bravest of units. I think that considering the majority of the chorf roster that they'll be more useful than a detriment, especially compared to the more expensive blood knights.

Ill say it. I like them balancing units for both campaign and multiplayer. I find any patch notes on units refreshing and i play campaign and multiplayer equally. Its fun having changes being made without it being a content patch. Makes me rethink my campaign strategies sometimes which is cool!

I feel like if you can deal with magma cannons and bull centaurs with the vampires the rest has harder time dealing with hordes of chaff. But those two are really tough for the matchup. Counts essentially need to deal with the magma cannons with some melee unit, but the Chorfs can deal with backline sneaking a lot better than artillery duels which is the usual answer. And if the magma cannons are free to shoot you can't bring anything more expensive than skeletons so you have a hard time killing bull centaurs after tying them down.

I think the black knights were a decent call, they did good work, not a misplay. What I would say is the biggest mistake was not getting the charge with the Direpack on those Bull Centaurs. I haven't played ina while but the direpack is absolutely devestating on the charge against lightly armoured cavalry, the problem being that they are also very weak themselves to being charged. Seems to me like those Bull Centarus are strong and meaty but not very tough or well armoured, the direpack should be able to get them to half health before they will get annihilated themselves, providing they get a good charge.

I'm not sure that I agree with the "just increase the cost" mentality. In some cases it's good but in others not so much. Magma Cannons shouldn't be more elite than Deathshrieker and Dreadquake Mortars. They currently perform better while costing less, just increasing the cost will just make them a more elite expensive unit which makes no sense from a lore perspective.

Otoh, magma cannons need LoS, where the others can hide behind terrain. This is a fundamental difference between PvP and campaign - in campaign you will have to deal with far, far more LoS issues, and magma cannons are much less reliable

I think if the magma cannon gets a nerf (still want it to be good just not OP) then you can bring a least a couple of higher tiered infantry to try and even out some of the fighting. Currently if you bring grave guard you know they're about to be focus fired and wasted.

ITP has always and will likely always be such a random thing that CA hands out. Best example is still Longbeards with ITP vs. Ironbreakers without ITP - one would thing the elite guards of the underways would be steeled against scary things...which they fight on a daily basis

Hexwraiths rather than Black Coach would probably be a good swap. Chaos Dwarfs outside of their daemons and flaming sword have very limited access to magic weapons. Their physical resist negates a good chunk of the damage bull centaurs can do, they're terror causing which is relevant vs. a large portion of the CD roster, they're magic damage all purpose cav so their stats and damage potential vs. even Astragoth is quite considerable, there's a lot of pros for including them in the army.

With the exp everone one has with Death magic I thing every one chooses Shadows for Pit of Shade. The only thing good about Death is Spirit Leech for kiting heroes

Regardless of this particular match, Vladdy definitely is daddy. He’s still so strong in every format - but do y’all remember in early immortal empires days when his healing cap was bugged? Truly an unholy terror. I literally couldn’t kill him with my early game campaign Kislev army; I had to just use autoresolve and take huge losses.

So, though I sit around that rank, with more play I feel I could probably be top 5 if I played in tourneys, instead of hosting. That being said, I've spent a lot of time focusing on how to beat them, more so than abusing their strengths/OP units. I think Chorfs will be a top 5 faction easy, they are insanely good!

Nah don't increase MP cost of Astragoth. He needs straight up nerfs, period. His armour value is much much too high for what he is. There's a time for MP cost increase, and that's when something is only OP in MP but fine in campaign. But anyone with a brain can see Astragoth literally have no weakness right now, great combat stats, insane speed for an infantry, small size, way too high armour, crazy passive, and spell casting. He's literally got everything and will need some pretty all around nerf in both game modes. If those "power fantasy" idiots want an unbalanced mess of a game, that's what Easy mode is for.

As one of the people that only plays single player, I really appreciate the call for balancing in multiplayer to focus on cost (and hopefully one day only be tweaks to cost). I'm sad to hear about the changes to the mark of slaanesh/hellstriders (which sound like they got stat changes), but I'll hope that CA move more and more to cost changes in the future and that mods can revert some of the changes (e.g. gorgers, hellstriders, etc.).
