If there's a better quintet of songs played in a row at a gig I doubt it, When I'm Up I Can't Get Down, The Road to Santiago, Blood Wedding, The Shouting End of Life

I remember following these guys around through Northern Europe a few times when they toured early 90's, spending nights at fellow fans homes, having 15 of them in my house one night..... ;) Great concerts, great times.....

Can't believe this is 20 years old and can't believe it is 20 years since I listened! I saw them a few times - probably Sidmouth - bloody hell what a live performance!

One of my favourite Folk Rock Bands. John, I still feel sorry for asking you in Sidmought, if you´d to a show with Five Alive O for St. Patricks Day in the Druckerei Bad Oeynhausen. I can still feel your polite smash on my forehead in the pub at Sidmought harbour.

"So, you reckon this is the Oysterband 25th anniversary? Well, actually it's something like the 27th, but they are a very slow band to get around to organizing things... so, would you please welcome the Oysterband!"

Not my opinion, THEY called this show "The 25th anniversary concert". It was recorded the 12th December 2003

Is Ian Kearey in this line up? He wrote us some music for a John Clare play A DESERT OF EDEN and one of the tunes made it on to an Oysterband album as Hollygrove the song originally underscored a sung poem by Clare SUNG BY ME AND PLAYED BY Tom Bower

Ian Kearey hasn't been in the group for some time -- I think he was gone after the 'Wide Blue Yonder' album. I believe that he is in a group now called Duck Soup (and I think that he also recently contributed to Shirley Collins' 'comeback' album).

I don't know the tune 'Hollygrove,' though -- I wonder which Oysterband album you are referring to?

@@skeletoncable There is a song called Holligrave on their 1982 album "English Rock 'n' Roll The Early Years 1800-1850"
