These virtual videos from Shrewsbury Folk Festival are first class and have to be amongst the best in the business - bit like the band really!

I first saw this band in a pub in Eastbourne in 1984ish. They were fantastic, blowing the place apart. I think I got drunk and vowed to see them again, and have, many times since.

Great band, horrible politics.
@Trunchisholm4 жыл бұрын
What's so offensive about their politics?
@oldcarliol4 жыл бұрын
@@Trunchisholm Left-wing, Socialist, you know how it goes, save the world, don't pay your bills. I prefer the 'do the very best for those in need but always make sure you try your best to make ends meet' method of doing things. Oh, and I take offence at anyone within the arts using their position to try to influence us politically, if you want to go down that route then be a politician. I prefer to be allowed to enjoy music and the arts in general, without being preached to. Don't get me wrong though, I love Oysterband, Jez Lowe et al, just don't like them preaching to me. My all time favourite band is Fairport Convention, haven't got a clue about their politics, even after following them and buying their records for fifty years, that's what you call class. Sorry about the long winded reply. It's been a crap year, one way and another. Merry Christmas to you and yours.

Folk music has always been "political." Guess you dislike Pete Seeger, too.
@scottdavison14204 жыл бұрын
Not a Dick Gaughan fan, either, I suppose.
@oldcarliol4 жыл бұрын
@@scottdavison1420 I'm not a big fan of Pete Seeger but not because of his politics. The thing is, I'd prefer to watch musicians without them spouting their own political ideals to me.
