Great trio! These guys manage to pull off 2 things at once that seem mutually exclusive: having a very funky, greasy groove that anyone can relate to, yet having bits of really advanced, even "outside" rhythmic and melodic stuff at the same time!

I've grown up listening to and idolizing Dave Weckl. However, I think I actually prefer Keith Carlock with Oz Noy, in the same way that I'd rather have Dave with Mike Stern. I think Keith fits Noy's quirky/poppy style better. I admit that I started listening to this trio and all its incarnations because Oz Noy played with amazing drummers - but I've grown to really love his guitar playing and musical "shtick" all by itself. As a drummer, I'll keep following him around regardless of who's playing with him at the moment... ps. holy crap, thumbs up to this awesome bass player too!
