I'm 53 years old and I have an aunt, uncle and cousins that have lived there ever since I can remember. Used to visit them when we were kids. Lived around there for a short time in the early 1970s. I love Arkansas.

@@rebelphonix33 You're right. I like seeing the sights and going down to the river and stuff like that, just seeing the sights, but I would never live there again. It took me a few years of being away from it to see how bad it is there.

Been there several times. Great Barbecue on the courthouse square. Stop at Sweet Book Deal every time. Place is a kinda of a dump but Mrs. Sweet is a lovable character who knows her books. It's a mass market paperback paradise (mostly used). Cats are friendly but you can smell the litter box sometimes. Still searching for book treasures is fun.

Embarrassed watching this video. Ozark is a dying town. No industries or prospects of any locating here. Very poor school system, no retail businesses downtown except for re-sale stores that are nothing more than inside yard sales. Fine dining here would be the Sonic unless you like tex-mex ! Grocery prices are outrageous as have only one grocery store. Most customers use food stamp cards or ebt cards for buying groceries as poverty is wide-spread. Town has a major drug problem, seems as though the citizens here turn blind eye and pretend its not an issue. The only retailer in town is an original WalMart store built years ago with very limited inventory offering to locals. Need furniture? Appliance? nice clothing? Won't find it in Ozark. We do have a very good selection of bars, taverns and liquor stores as well as lots of dwi and public drunken arrests. Does help with tax collections benefiting courts and local jails. City streets are ignored and also littered in town. Driving thru town, the empty storefronts and windows are dirty or broken. Bricks actually falling off buildings into the alleys in the back. Neglected buildings and homes everywhere since no one is locating to Ozark. Same homes have been listed with almost every realtor in the region for yrs with no luck. Who and why would anyone relocate to a town like this! The best view of Ozark is in your rear view mirror as your leaving the city limits! When leaving, don't buy your gas here, its normally 20-25 cents higher here. Enjoy your trip leaving and viewing a future ghost town!

By far the worst roads in the state. All the businesses have busted up parking lots. Half the houses look like they're ready for demolition. Very few people mow their lawns. There are no decent restaurants. No selection at the only grocery store here. The tiny Walmart doesn't carry half the things you normally find at a Walmart. Home Depot is a 40 mile drive and a decent beer selection is two hours away!

fact: on Bill Clinton's 50th birthday August 19, 1996, only cars went to 70 mph in his home state, trucks remained @ 65 mph, as per his wish of not wanting higher speed limits in late 1995. STILL IS to this day. AR is the only state in the south where trucks are limited to 65 statewide. Everywhere else, 70.
