Well done young man!!! When I went through my apprenticeship a Dutch carpenter from the old country taught me to use a hacksaw blade as they were thin. Now I use a thin kerf finish saw from Germany that really works well. Great job explaining “ how to “ perform accurate joinery. Thank you!!

I've never seen anyone build as done Wondering why such huge gaps between planks, Do you remove spacers or place something in between them Or do you collapse them with a glue in between Would make for a really tight closed shell. Or do you leave as is
@TheBeardedCarpenter
@TheBeardedCarpenter 6 ай бұрын
Howdy y’all- the gaps are filled with insulation and chinking after the logs settle. The blocking stays in and is chinked over. I normally build with live edge logs and you see the natural shapes of the logs which is how the older cabins were built. Nowadays with access to sawmills people will get them squared up and leave a gap between the logs to copy what the old school log cabins looked like. Thank you so much for watching the video and for the comment. Take care and God bless
