The box actually says center height is 3 feet, but as you can see it is probably in the neighborhood of 4 1/2 feet, actually. The inside is really spacious as well and like everyone says, fits in your backpack, too for easy access, great review and you covered everything and thank god your not in jail.. awesome!

I’m one of those people with a $600 dyneema tent. I do a lot of long distance ultralight backpacking, usually averaging 15-20 miles each day, so for me I felt the investment was worth it. I don’t regret my purchase. However, I have been looking to buy a whole extra set of gear for friends and family to use when they visit. It took me years to save up for that tent. So, I’m trying to find a lightweight affordable option. After seeing your review, I will be buying this one. For anyone wanting to make this more lightweight; I strongly recommend MSR groundhog stakes. Also, in place of the tarp, you can use Tyvek (which is what they wrap houses in for waterproofing)... sometimes if you are lucky, you can find leftovers in dumpsters at build sites. You can also put an ad up that you’re looking for a very small section. Great review! Thanks for taking your time to share. Also, love the beard...you look like the classic American outdoorsman.

Thank you so much for your kind words! And yes, I would probably do the same as you if I were hiking that much. Would love to have a $600 tent. Maybe in a couple of years when I do a thru-hike! Great tent review. It’s a great tent especially for the price. I have this one and the backpacking one person tent they have now which has a real vestibule and is slightly lighter than this. I also like that the other one isn’t orange. It’s blue and gray. I like both for different situations. The blue and gray one is a single wall tent so there is a more likely chance of condensation on this one but all single wall tents are subject to some condensation. This one has really good room for 1 person for sure. Both are good tents. Glad to see yours has been serving you for 3 years.

Thank you! I gave my daughter the new version for her birthday -she loves it! I've always wondered about that blue and gray one. It's only $26. Think I'll give it a try some day too! Thank you so much for your input my friend!

It has a major issue with water seepage through the floor and problems getting in and out in wet weather. I modded it with aluminum poles, which dramatically improved wind performance, eliminated sagging and dropped the weight a bit. I used it long after the fly failed, as a 'bug net', under a tarp. I ditched the bag and rolled it in a tyvek groundsheet and attached to my pack. For full price(~$30), theres better options, but I got it on sale for $17 and got a lot of utility out of it. Its surprisingly roomy.

That is a cool looking tent man and wow I can't believe the price. It's incredible value for that price. When Walmart first started getting into the outdoor game, their gear was junk. I remember the early Ozark Trail stuff was terrible. But then suddenly they made vast improvements. Now days most of the Ozark Trail stuff is pretty decent gear, especially for someone on a budget. I did a torture test on one of the backpacks and I was amazed how well it did. I confess that most of the gear I carry comes from the bigger name brands or well known store brands, but there is definitely nothing wrong at all with most of the Ozark Trail stuff. I still use an Ozark Trail down sleeping bag for moderate and warm weather, it weighs less than a pound and it keeps me warm when temps are down as low as the low 40s...beyond that I switch to other gear. Man I remember those pup tents with two poles. I also had a green one. I have no idea where I got that thing. Mine was solid olive drab with two aluminum poles. Camped many nights in it on our private land out on our farm as well as a couple of trips I did up in Shenandoah National Park back when I was a teenager. Good memories!
@underthecarolinasky23636 жыл бұрын
I still have the poles from my last pup tent. They pack very well and come in handy with a tarp! I have the same Ozark Trail bag as well -great bag. I also have a Ozark Trail THICK fleece bag that rolls up and has shock cords. It's a bag all it's own, but I use it inside my cool weather bag -kept me warm in 30 degree weather.
@knightingalesaid13 күн бұрын
I had the Ozark 3 man dome tent. I spent about 90 days through the winter in it. You have to use long 8” stakes in high wind. The only thing that it didn’t do well in was in the snow. It crushes it with those flimsy poles. I have some extra heavy duty poles I can use for it. It’s good for the money.

Nice review buddy. My most watched video of all times was for an Ozark Trail 1 person backpacking tent. People can say what they want but for the price they can't be beat. Walmart contracts actual tent manufacturers that build tents for many brands to fabricate their tents. I know this one has served you well, and I love those storms and rain in my tents too. I hope 2019 brings you many adventures. 👍
