Why do you connect the chicken loop first and safety second ? Doesn't that mean if the kite powers up in between and you have to release the loop that you lose the whole rig down wind ? e.g. a thermal passing by

i own and do not recommend hyperlink v2. pulleys and zipper are low quality and break after about a year of occasional use. they did not honor warranty for pulleys for me saying it was “misused” and had sand in it. i think they are well aware their pulleys and zippers are low wuality and they fail. just fyi kiters.

I've flown Chrono's and Hyperlinks from their 1st release year, and always had a new set of 4 every couple of years. I've never had a zipper or roller fail, but I do keep them meticulously maintained after every session. The only thing that broke was a single bridle on an 18m Chrono v1. That kites bridles were super thin racing lines, V2,3,4 this never happened again (that's over 12 kites over 6 years or so).

I wish it were so easy as it seems in the video. My launching is almost always a nigthmare, unless there is a experienced assistant to hold the kite all the way from the one tip to another, while I take steps downwind. Otherwise, closed cell foils always leave the ground with tips colapsed. Anyway, good instructional video.

It's good to take your time, don't rush the launch, pre-inflating is the key. With any of my Chrono's I tend to fully launch when the kite is almost fully pressurised (less no less than maybe 10-15%).

bowmosexual, I do all tricks to try a clean lauch. Recently I've been using a simple construction pipe inserted on the central air intake, which is incredible efficient. It fully inflates the kite in 30 seconds. I guess the problem is the flat wing tips of my Sonic 2. The kite has the best performance I've ever tested... but the launch is pretty difficult

Joao Guilherme Didn't know you were on sonic2 kites, i haven't flown them so can't speak for them, Chrono ver 1 2 3 here. Chrono3 kites have very square tips, almost the full width of the kite, but still perfect launch every time without any pipe assist. No tip folding or loss of profile in all flight conditions. Quite superb.
