Would love to see some objective GPS riding speed comparisons @ diff windspeed ranges w/this and other current competitors wings in the near future.

Looking forward to seeing on water reviews to see if it performs as well in real life as it does in theory.

Seeing all that upper and under canopy.. I can't help to think my HA sonar foil going through it and having to patch stuff together

KiteWing style non-inflatable wings are the future. (They are made for snow and ice) I'm calling it now. Expert level riders will be using wings that look more like windsurfing sails with carbon fiber frames instead of inflatable leading edges and struts.

I drew that four years ago. Dopey big leading edge D has to go. Carbon makes it all possible. We used carbon in 1983 to break the sailing speed record. Never looked back.

Interested to hear the on water impressions! Is it true that it can't be flagged out on a wave at all because not enough drag to keep it flagged?

What about mass of air inside wing as acting inertial resistance to movement? Similar to foil kites which are sooooo slow to react and turn.

For sure this one will be the first over 40 knots, and for sure this is just a start...

Nice one. They should have made it with a boom.

Any thoughts on repairability. It is common to tear the canopy when Wing Foiling. Another excellent review Jeff!

Repairable, difficult, but repairable.

Interesting concept, but I'd think those 4 air inlets sticking out may create some drag... Thanks for the preview Jeff.
@alastairnichol30287 ай бұрын
really!? Come on, the extra drag from 4 tiny pockets! the whole concept will out weigh this by factors.
@IainHannay7 ай бұрын
Hi Jesse, they need to create drag to do what they are there for. This is a ram air concept and the scoops do the ramming. THey are also very stream lined in design so the over all effect far out weighs any drag.
@hahn85527 ай бұрын
There's drag over the entire leading edge on a single surface wing. Plus your valves, covers, and tubes.

Not sure for who this wing is aimed for....Just watched the Fusion Ozone PR video. Not a single rider on any kind of wave with this wing. Sand getting into this wing`s complex interior chambers is my biggest worry. Fixing panels damage is as "simple" as un-stinching the back side it seems? That zipper doesn't cover the whole wing. Mostly designed for racing on lakes?

Forget zips. use velcro!

GONG WING PULSE DP Made simpler, more elegant, from modern new materials and is already showing results in competitions. Ozone is like a flying mattress

They are different concepts for sure, I am looking forward to seeing them both on the same race course, which has not happened yet. We do know that our paragliders and foil kite are more efficient with both surfaces and not just a half surface like gong. The game is on! Exciting times ahead.

Can you provide links where one can see that in a race dp Wing gives a benefit?
